Really good guys
I was having some trouble starting my car at times and a friend referred Seattle Auto to me. I was very impressed with the service and honesty of the owner David. He was helpful and gave me some options and recommendations but did not force them on me like it was life or death. Thanks David. Take your car there, you will be happy you did.

Well treated first time service
Bottom line: Dave (owner) and the staff treated me and my car problem in a timely and efficient manner. They diagnosed the problem (deficient tire) and walked me through the steps with how to address this problem with Les Schwab. They did not charge me for their diagnosis and their assistance helped advocate for myself with the management at Les Schwab. I will be going back to them, to be sure!

Honest and Fair Priced
I have been a loyal customer for 4 years. I never thought I would use honest, fair and mechanic all in the same sentence. But they are all those things and more! I send all my friends there.

Nice People, Excellent Service!
I made a Citysearch account specifically so I could write a review about the Seattle Auto Service Center. I have had two separate experiences here that have both been above and beyond in terms of quality. Both times I have had to go in on very little or no notice at all, and they have made time for me and made sure my car was fixed before they closed. They have been very patient, answered all my questions, and mad... view moree sure I knew what they were going to do before actually fixing anything. I especially appreciate this because I`m not a car person, and it`s nice to have someone answer your questions. Their prices are very reasonable and they also offer a small student discount, which is nice on the grad student budget. I`m really happy to have found such a trustworthy business that I know will do great work on my car.

Incredible service!
I recently had car trouble - stalled and died in he middle of a busy Seattle road! Knowing next to nothing about cars I had no idea what it was (battery, alternator, starter) and had no idea where to take it (it was after hours and I had to have it towed somewhere.) Coming down Roosevelt I had passed this shop many times so I just told the tow truck driver to take it here and I would deal with it the next morning. ... view more Totally blind decision...knew absolutely nothing about this place - just dropped it there and left my key, all the while fearing I had just opened my self (and my wallet) up to a potential draining situation by an unscrupulous mechanic. Boy was I completely surprised and thrilled with the service and the professionalism of the guys at this shop!! I called first thing the next morning when they opened and they had already diagnosed the problem and had it being worked on. In what I feared from past experiences would be a mechanic`s dream opportunity to upsell me on a new set of brakes, rewiring the electrical system or have a complete engine overhaul turned into a simple battery replacement! I was relieved that my bank account would remain intact but moreso that I had found an incredible, honest, professional and totally pleasant experience at a garage - one that had eluded me all my life! I want to commend all the folks at Seattle Auto Center for the way they handled my situation. They said they would call me when it was ready and they did. They were totally open to being there a bit past closing when I was held up in traffic coming to pick up the car. I couldn`t have asked for a better end to what started out as an ugly stalled car situation! Thanks to David and the crew here and, dare I say, I look forward to the next time I need a good mechanic (which I hope will be never but we all know that hope!) TOTALLY recommend these guys for all your auto needs!!

Trust worthy, on time and a good job!
I took my 2000 Eclipse in this spring and had a great experience. I`d scheduled an appointment for September for some maintenance I knew was coming up (fuel injection cleaning, etc) and almost cancelled the appointment after reading a negative review by another user. But then I realized I had no idea who else I`d take it to so I decided to talk to the owner when I went in.
When I met the woman the front desk,... view more I expressed my concerns and asked if I could talk with the owner. Turns out she is the owner, and was well aware of the poor review. I didn`t sense any defensiveness in her further comments, but genuine confusion over why the gentleman was so upset. She said they`d tried to chat with him to figure out what was going on and he`d refused to return their calls, etc.
I decided to have them work on my car. It made me feel better that the woman was an owner, that she was aware of the problem and could speak so intelligently and with genuine concern vs. anger or excuses about the situation, and that she understood my concern.
My car was done that afternoon. The mechanic said some of the work I`d been expecting could easily wait several more months, and my bill was $200 instead of the $600 I`d expected. Now, I would normally assume ""oh, it`s because I talked to them about this issue and they`re trying to win my business, etc."" But the truth is, back in April I had the same thing happen and they didn`t know me from anyone else at that point.
I think this is a great shop. There are always grumpy customers, and misunderstandings can happen even with non-grumpy customers. :-) I`ll keep going to this shop.

Great Shop
My daughter referred me to Seattle Auto, when my car started stalling. They were very nice and did a great job. They recommended a few items and gave me a quote. I called around and found there prices to be appropriate for my repairs. I had no problem getting my car back in to complete the items. I had a very enjoyable experience and would recommend this shop.

Don`t take your car here
I took my 94 mazda in and they put out a laundry list of problems with it and a price tag of $2500 to fix it. Always being skeptical of auto repair (my dad was a mechanic for 20 years and my first car I rebuilt with his help), I double checked a few things to find out what was going on.
Turns out that the radiator replacement ($300 repair cost with parts) they ""suggested"" was fixed with a 2 dollar seal. The ... view moreoil pan was never leaking (around $100 suggested cost), and the clutch work I needed was done by Aurora Clutch and More (great guys by the way!) for about $300 less than they estimated. Also, when I talked to a mechanic he basically lied to my face about my radiator hoses being ""brittle and hard"" when they were not.
This place does things by replacing the whole kit and kabodle instead of trying to figure out what is the real problem. If one of your spark plugs goes bad, you`ll be paying for a rotor, cap, wires, as well as new plugs. This is the classic place to take your car if you don`t know anything about cars and get taken for a ride on cost. Go to someone that you can talk to and who is honest about what is really wrong with your car, just don`t go here.
