Reviews:
I was brand new to the area, and I knew something was wrong with my car. I searched on my phone for shops in the area who worked on transmissions and found Silverdale Transmissions. I called and talked to the owner Mike. He said he was booked solid and had no space for me until a week or two. I wanted to know if it would be okay if I asked him a few questions over the phone and just talk about my car. He ended up tak... view moreing me right in. At first he was just going to put it up on the machine that reads the codes and tell me what he thought it was.
Mike ended up keeping it for 2 1/2 hours. He assured me that it was safe to drive short term, but I would need to bring it in for repairs. The news wasn`t great, but he was amazing to work with. Mike and everyone there provided phenomenal customer service. They had totally gained my trust with their honesty throughout the ordeal.
I had taken my car to another shop to get looked at and that shop tried to pull one over on me. They told me I needed an oil change, even though I had just changed my oil. Then they wanted to charge me $50 for a new air filter when I knew I could get one for $10 at Walmart.
The people at Silverdale Transmissions knew my situation made me feel vulnerable and trapped because I was from out of town and had just moved there from 6 hours away. And they were able and willing to help me out as much as possible. I live about an hour away from them now, but I will continue to use their services because of the integrity, courtesy and honesty they showed me.

UNTRUSTWORTHY
Mechanics at Bremerton, WA AAMCO Transmissions were deceptive and dishonest. They charged almost double what they quoted and took 4 days to complete an 8 hour job. They quoted $740 over the phone for the installation of a new clutch kit. Only after they had disassembled my transmission and clutch assembly did they tell me the real price of $981 for the clutch kit. They also said that it was necessary to replace ... view morethe entire clutch hydraulic system and flywheel. It was only after the fact that I learned that the flywheel can be easily machined and the hydraulics should last over 200K miles.
I did not trust their judgment and their business practices. They took advantage of my lack of automobile knowledge to make personal gains in profit. I do not doubt that they are all technically competent at repairing cars. However, they use this knowledge to a negative end.
Do not be deceived by the tempting offers of free inspections. This is where they first draw you in to their web of lies and trickery.
Please, do not make the same mistake that I did. By providing this shop with business you only perpetuate their ability to exist and there is no place in this world for treacherous mechanics who feed on the unsuspecting.
