Be very careful asking any questions! I will not go back to this Precision Tune in Gig Harbor! The woman (owner) behind the counter was extremely argumentive and just downright nasty to me when I had questions about the cost of the additional work they wanted to do for my car plus the oil change I brought my vehicle in for in the first place. The outright hostility, overall poor customer service and the embaraasm... view moreent as the woman continuously harangued me in front of other customers was enough. Add the fact of the unflattering gestures she made at me as as I left, was just unbelievable! Everyone has a bad day, but I have never been treated that way by a business in my entire life (50+ years). Just a terrible, terrible experience and I will never, ever go back to that business again!

Wonderful service
Our car failed its emission test so I took it to Precision Tune in Gig Harbor to have my car`s sinuses cleaned out (as the owner described it to me). The car was fixed on time, and when I took it back to get re-inspected, they said the car was ""very very good - like new!"" I am very happy with the service we got at Precision Tune and the care Roger took with the car. Great job, and thanks so much!

Avoid Precision Auto in Gig Harbor
The work done was flawed (simple stuff ?ˆ“ they left loose screws and nuts!). Several things were worse after they worked on the car. AND they were not honest about pricing. To top it off, they got viciously angry when I questioned the changes in pricing (bait and switch tactics). I am a middle aged professional with lots of conflict management experience, so I was very level and even toned. The proprietor however beca... view moreme very angry, loud, accusing, and condescending. He even called me ?ˆ?honey?ˆ? and ?ˆ?dear?ˆ? ?ˆ“ yikes! I?ˆ™ve never met this guy before, and he left nuts and bolts loose in my car?ˆ¦ Need I say more?
To start with, they advertise a very low cost tune up. Do not believe this advertising! It is false. They in fact charge about 5 times that advertised amount for a tune up.
I asked on the phone upfront for clear pricing, and they did a very detailed over the phone quote, for exactly my vehicle make, model, year, etc. They were very detailed about exact costs for the tiniest parts of the larger tune up. The tune-up services needed were basic & ordinary. They were supposed to give me special pricing for doing the whole tune-up package. The only thing special about the pricing is that it was about 4-5 times more than advertised!
Example: when I brought the car to the shop, labor on each service item was suddenly $40 more per service item than quoted the day before on the phone. To change the spark plugs there were the usual charges plus an up-charge (above the already too-high price) because they are hard to reach in my car. On the phone, they said ""it will be an additional $112.50.?ˆ? And they charged me $150 additional instead.
Example: they were going to charge $35 for the cabin filter (a $17 part) and $35 for labor. I told them not to do it because I wanted to save the $70, they removed the part charge but they still charged me $35 for the labor -- which they did not do! In fact, there is such a bad smell in the car right after I got it back that I think they put something nasty in there.
The air filter in question is in the glove box. A toddler could change it!
There is more but I will leave it at that. Astonishingly bad attitude and astonishingly bad quality. I`m genuinely concerned that they rigged something to go wrong so that I`ll come back for more! Yikes.
