Greatly Improved!

Well I had gone here before actually reading the reviews. I went in because I needed a coolant flush, rear differential, and transfer case fluid changed out. When I got there I just went to get a quote and was told that it wouldn`t be over $200. They said if I leave the car with them they will be able to get to it a little later in the day which was fine for me because I live close enough to walk home. It had been four hours and no call (only reason they got fours stars instead of five). I decided to walk up there in the rain and when I got there I was helped by Ian and he said my car was done and ready to go. It cost me 199.95 so I would say they did a good job. I also asked a question about another service I want to get done and he explained all of my options instead of just trying to sell me on one service and just replacing a part that might not need to be replaced. I will defiantly be going back and I would recommend them to anyone who asks. They also give military discount which is a good plus.

Great service!

After a terrible experience with another local shop, I took our family car (Suburban) here to diagnose a brake noise that two other shops had been unable to diagnose. They worked us in to their schedule immediately and allowed me to go on the ride-along so I could be sure their mechanic heard the noise that has been plaguing my wife. I spoke with the new manager named Jim about the negative reviews on this website and he informed me that they have taken steps to correct the previous management issues that seem to have been problematic. Jim and the crew here are knowledgeable and courteous so I would fully endorse these guys. We will be back for all our automotive needs! Great location too, right on Meridian in South Hill.

Alert...don`t walk away, RUN!!!!!

This place is the worst place to take your car to. Kris the manager is a jerk. He ups the cost of the parts and labor way too high for the work that needs to done. If you have a problem with(or decline) anything he cops an attitude and belittles you, especially if your a woman. The owner need to get a new manager, maybe then they will be a better business.

I am not returning to this Walt`s Wrench on South Hill

We took our 95 Lincoln town car in because our headlights were not working. We felt there was a fuse out. There is a fuse panel right under the dashboard on the drivers side. After waiting from 10 AM until 12:30 we were told that they couldn`t find the problem and would have to take the steering colloum apart and take out the dash to get to the problem. At this point we paid 50.00 dollars because they said it was... view more $85.00 an hour and they had already spent 30 minutes working on the car. At this point my husband said pay them the $50.00 bucks and we are leaving. The Assistant Manager was not very friendly. It seemed that the whole crew didn`t really care about our concerns and I sure had no confidence that anyone I met knew what they were doing. We have used Walt`s several times before and were happy with the service and the concern by the mechanics and the Mananger. I did not see any of those people at the shop this time. These new people really suck and we won`t be back because there is a real lack of professionalism and customer care which leads one to believe the service will not be top notch. There was 3 other customers all of waited a long period of time to get service and the rest of the customers were as unhappy with the service as we were. This is no way to run a business. Wouldn`t take my car here again

Took my Nissan Maxima here for a tranny flush. And they broke the gear in the electric motor on the drivers seat. And then they had the nerve to say they couldn`t have done that. Well, it worked fine when I took it in & has never had problems before. It`s like someone to big got into it & pushed back really hard and broke some of the teeth on the gear. Won`t be going back to Walts ever again...
