Sheboygan County Budget is a family-owned used car dealership serving customers around the Sheboygan area and nationwide. We are a part of the large Van Horn Automotive Group that have been in business for over 50 years. We are located in Plymouth, WI and are a short drive from Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Manitowoc, Appleton, and Milwaukee. We carry many makes and models. Our vehicles are put through a certified inspection, checking more than 125-points. This inspection is completed in accordance with the WI DOT procedures and guidelines. ? History Van Horn Automotive Group has been a family-owned business for many decades. Joe Van Horn moved his family from Chicago to Plymouth to purchase Wagner Chevrolet and open his first store, Joe Van Horn Chevrolet, in 1966. It was located on Factory and Shwartz streets. His son Chuck, looking back, recalls these being challenging times, with six children and very little money to start their business. In 1977 Joe Van Horn built the dealership in its current location. In 1987 Chuck Van Horn purchased the Dodge dealership, and in 1989 he purchased an Oldsmoblile dealership and dropped the Oldsmobile brand to take on Hyundai. This dealership moved to its current location in 1994. Fond Du Lac Hyundai was built in 2002. The Van Horn group has come a long way, but it is still operated as a small family-run business with their strong values guiding their business decisions.

Started off as a good experience with the salesman Tom Artasby, however they downplayed an oxygen sensor light that was on in our vehicle and said it just had to be shut off, little did we know we should have had it checked by an independent mechanic. And during the negotiation of our trade-in sales manager Kyle didn`t like our counter offer got up and said "see ya later", just rude and unprofessional. He w... view moreasn`t willing to work with us and was very rude. Tom then saw us walking out and we were able to work with him to get it within our budget. The oxygen turned out to be a huge problem. Within 2 months our car was eating oil and we couldn`t figure out why. We took it to another dealership to find out the engine needed to be replaced, and that was going to cost twice as much as the vehicle. Of course it`s a used car so I didn`t expect it to be perfect, but to have to have the engine replaced, really? Budget auto was not willing to work with us at all and basically said you signed the contract so it`s your problem. So needless to say we are out a lot of money (to us) and out a vehicle. They sold us a lemon, they knew it, and said oh well. I personally wouldn`t want to work for a place that does this to hard working people trying to support a young family. Now my wife has to give me rides to work so she can have the car to get to work and drop our kids off/pick them up. Thanks for the debt and terrible experience. This will take us years to pay off and we can`t afford to buy another vehicle.... SOL. #1 don`t buy from these guys they really don`t give a flying F about you or your family, and #2 always get a used car checked out by a mechanic before you sign your life away. You can`t trust what they tell you about the condition of the car, and they will lie to your face just to make a sale. In WISCONSIN Dealers are not required to do any diagnostics on cars, drive them and there is no lemon law in Wisconsin in regards to used cars before selling them. We are one of the few states. So be warned about this company. Although they know what they did is wrong, all they can say is that we did not buy a warranty, which this would not of been covered by even if we had. So be warned when you buy ANY car from not... view more just this dealer but any dealer - they can basically sell you a lemon and will turn their backs on you because legally they are not obligated to help you. Even though My husband is a Doctor in the community and I also own a business. They will be VERY sorry, word of mouth and reviews will be posted Everywhere warning others of these people who may be technically following the rules, but have no conscience for families buying their cars. When asking then to right their wrong, all they could say was - you should have purchased a warranty - they have no regard for whats right beyond a state rule. there is no lemon law in Wisconsin. Be warned!!!
