I have purchased a total of six vehicles from the Ewald Dealerships all with great experiences. Most recently I went to the Franklin Jeep store and bought a new Wrangler from Mat Oberlander. Mat is "GREAT" he knows more about Jeeps than anyone I have ever met. Mat is a no BS guy - a bit dry but very knowledgeable. When I was all done I owned a new Teton Edition Wrangler - amazing looking and perfo... view morerming. Jody Schutte the General Manager was extremely nice, helped appraise my old Wrangle Sport and was fair on it`s value. Mat and Jody made me feel like a King!
I highly recommend you see Mat for a new vehicle!!

I purchased a new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport on May 23rd. Our sales guy, Pete was awesome. He was helpful in every way. He made sure all my questions were answered and I was happy with my purchased.
The finance guy, Mike was not great. It stated out great. He was going through all the paperwork with us. Once he got to the extra stuff (additional warranty, oil changes) I stopped him and said, "let me stop ... view moreyou right here. I don`t need the extra crap. I just want to finance for the price of the Jeep".
Now, maybe crap wasn`t a word I should have used but I am the customer and frankly, I will use any word I want. I was buying a $26,000 car. Mike at that point took the piece of paper that had all the details of the additional items I could purchase and wrote on the paper, ?ˆ?Customer states, he doesn`t want the crap". This surprised me a bit and I asked him in the term "crap" was a normal verbiage people uses and laughed. He states, "I am new and I don`t want them to think I don`t know what I am doing. Plus it is all on video". His attitude sucked so bad, I was ready to walk out then and there. But after 4 hours, I didn`t want Pete to lose the sale all because of this poor attitude finance guy.
So I sat there dealing with his rudeness until the paper work was done and I got my keys. Once home, the whole situation bugged me. This was the second Jeep I have purchased from Ewald and to think I was treated so poorly really upset me.
Over the next few days I thought about returning the Jeep. As much as I loved the Jeep, I was upset. I decided to call the dealership and let them know of a few things that had upset me. I had discovered a few other things about the whole transaction which made me questions my experience.
1) Why was I not offered the no payments for 90 days?
2) Why was I not offered the interest rate of 3.34% with a credit rating of 830?
3) And of course my experience with Mike.
I had to call twice and leave a message before anyone called me back. First Pete called. He stated that he would transfer me to Mike. I explained I didn?ˆ™t want to communicate with Mike since he was the problem; there was no point in talking to him. Pete then stated he would have Andrew call me (the manager). Two days later Andrew called. I explained my situation and asked my few questions I had. He stated that he would look into it and give me a call back. It?ˆ™s been a month now and no call.
I will NEVER buy another car from Ewald again. It seems once their deliver you your car, they are done. After you sign your paper, that?ˆ™s it, you mean nothing now. They have their money and who gives a flying pig poop. If this is the type of service I get when I buy a car, I will give my money to someone else who will treat me with respect and actually give a care.
I am pretty sure that nothing ever happen to Mike and more than likely Mike and Andrew had a good laugh at what a sucker I was for buying one of their Jeeps. They have lost me as a customer for life.
