Avoid Car-isma
Avoid going to Car-isma in Cedarburg. Thier primary incentive is to pull money from your hands. They will mis-diagnose your problem to profit themselves.
A week ago I took my Civic to them with an oil leak. They looked at it and said that is was a cracked oil pan and would have to be replaced. The quote was for two hours of work and a new pan. The work would have been $120 and the parts $180. I could not affor... view mored that work and was very glad I did not let them do it.
First off, a new pan from the dealer woulds cost $100. Where the quote for $180 came from is a mystery. It probably a lie with 80% mark-up.
I checked a number of websites in relation to this oil leak. They all said that the aluminum gasket on the drain plug has to be changed every oil change. I do not think mine was ever changed. Car-isma never mention that! The car has 220,000 miles on it. I went to Advantge Auto parts and bought a washer for $0.22. I put it on and the car has not leaked since.
Car-isma was happy to take my $300 when the repair really cost 22 cents. Avoid them or get ripped off.
