Look elsewhere. I had four new tires put on my vehicle about 14 months ago. When one developed a leak about 3 months ago, I brought the car back in. Was told that the leak wasn`t fixable and the tire needed to be replaced. They did not have a same-brand tire in stock, but had a tire in stock they said was compatible with the three good ones on my vehicle (which cost about $100 more). I agreed to have this tire p... view moreut on, because I needed to use the vehicle. Last month, I took the vehicle in for the annual Virginia state inspection (at a different locale) and was told the treads on this brand new tire were worn down to the point where they barely passed. The tire only had about 2,000 miles on it. When I brought the car back into Merchant`s, after looking at the tire they had put on, they told me it was a drag racing tire, barely street legal, and they should not have put this tire on my vehicle. Then, the first gentlemen I spoke with said he wasn`t sure about any warranty and I might have to pay for a replacement tire. The second person made the decision not to charge me, which was a bit better, but I still ended up having to pay for a warranty on the second tire. . . and also for disposal of the wrong tire they had put on. The most disconcerting part of this experience was that neither individual ever thought to apologize to me for putting the wrong tire on my car (which again, cost me about $100 more than the other tires on my vehicle). Why would someone even think to put a more expensive, drag-racing tire on my vehicle and not even tell me? Had just one Merchant`s employee uttered the words quote I`m sorry or we apologize unquote, I may have considered using this dealer again. But I`m done with these folks, and I recommend others steer clear of them as well!
