My experience here was terrible. It was a classic swindle. First they showed me a problem with my car and told me one price, $350. Then they called their supplier for the part and told me it was actually going to be a little more, $450. At this point I should have walked out, but my naivety made me stay. Two days after installing the new part the same problems returns. All they needed to do was install a engine mount... view moreing bracket. I did a little research on the part and you can find it online between $125 and $200. That means they charged between $250 and $325 for labor - and didn`t even install the thing properly. I am in the army, and I was in uniform, and they still decided to screw me. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT trust these guys with anything.

The Precisioon Tune in Newport News on Jefferson Avenue is an exceptional service center! I moved here almost two years ago and took my car for an oil change because they sent me a coupon. But they immediately became my only car service for both of our vehicles. They are friendly, professional, competitively priced and HONEST. One of the things I most appreciate from Blue and his team is the fact they will tell you e... view morexcatly what you need and also what you don t need in regards to service. They never try to upsell you or suggest unnecessary maintenance. But if you need it, they will recommend it and price it fairly and have the technically trained personnel to take care of it. And they can take care of anything, even things you might not expect to fall under their normal scope of operations. For instance I asked about replacing fog lamps on my sister s Tahoe and they took care of it. I needed headlights replaced on my wife s Honda Accord and they took care of it. Wonderful and fair

I decided to go to Precision Tune based on their streetside sign stating $14.00 for a state inspection. My inspection was due, and when I called they said they could do it in an hour. They did the inspection for $14.00. It was done in less than an hour. The technician listed things that may be an issue in the next year (tires, wiper blades). I found this location to be fair and to take extra time to explain everything--even with a simple state inspection. They earned a new customer!

State Inspections

I received a package of coupons in the mail, one of which was for $3.00 off on a state inspection, so since one of my vehicles was due for an inspection, I gave them a try.
They were nice enough people, they did an oil change and state inspection in less than 2 hrs and called me when they were done but...
The vehicle failed the inspection for the following reasons:
Windshield wiper blades needed to be rep... view morelaced. Pretty standard. Wiper blades generally only last a year or two. Their price, 2 @ $12.95 each. We got them ourselves for $9.95 each.
Headlights need to be adjusted, $45.00 labor.
What in the world is this? I have lived in VA for over 20 years and have never been told that I needed to have my headlights adjusted or I wouldn`t get my inspection sticker! $45.00 labor? Just what are these guys getting paid and how many of them does it take to adjust headlights?
Missing lug nut, $9.95. Oops we missed one when we changed them out with the new tires. There are a couple of them in the back of the vehicle. They probably would have charged us to put it on too.
Leaking steer gear box. $349. 00 for the part, and $223.00 for labor. We can get the part from AutoZone for $149.00.
When the man called to tell me the bad news, I asked him how bad the leak was, and he said bad enough to not pass inspection. When I asked him now what am I going to do, he said get it fixed.
Someone comes in with a coupon and they want to charge them $45.00 to get their headlights adjusted in order to get their inspection sticker? This place is about the money, not helping the customer. But they did get the oil change and inspection done in good time.
Beware of coupons! They seem to be the bait they use to get you on the hook so that they can pressure you into spending more money than you have
