Honest, reliable and no frills. He only fixes what you brought your car in for and only after making sure that you are going to be okay with the price tag. He is the only mechanic that has ever worked on my cars, from the old beaters to the one and only brand new car I bought. You don`t find mechanics like him anymore. i was told by a mechanic at a dealership that Ernie had been a certified gm technician for well over 20 years. having a 1989 Cadillac, i was hoping that he would have the expert knowledge to do some work on it for me. when i called the receptionist she informed me that Ernie could not rebuild carburetors. he was kinda my only hope, having such great reviews and having been in the business for 20+ years. 3 stars is du... view moree to disappointment. but not bad work.. hopefully some day i will have something that he can fix

Top-Notch, Excellent, Trustworthy, Honest, Fair, LISTENS!

Ernie really helped me out after I got screwed over by another mechanic at a dealership in the local area. He actually listened to what I had to say about the issues I had with the car, and used the information I provided him to determine what needed fixing on the car and what didn`t. Being a single woman, you encounter a lot of mechanics that will completely dismiss anything you have to say, disregard the comments ... view morethat you have about your car, and also try to milk you for repairs that aren`t needed--all of which happened to me at the mechanic I went to before I went to Ernie`s. I would recommend Ernie`s Garage completely, and would definitely return there the next time I travel through Vermont with any car concerns or maintainence issues.
