UNSAFE COMPANY

THIS IS A COMPANY THAT PROMOTES DRIVER TO NOT USE LOGS WHEN REQUIRED. THE OWNER WHO I WILL NOT NAME RECENTLY WAS TICKETED AT THE EVANSTON WYOMING PORT OF ENTRY FOR THIS VERY THING. I HAD THEM TOW THE TRUCK I WAS DRIVING (130,000 LBS POWDER TRUCK) AND THE DRIVER SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING SO I DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HOOKING UP TO THE TRUCK. HE FAILED TO PULL A SHAFT OR AXLES AND DID NOT ... view moreTAKE CONTROL OF THE BRAKES OF MY TRUCK. DRIVER COULD DRIVE WELL AND THE JAKE BRAKE WAS AWESOME IN HIS WRECKER UNTIL WE GOT OFF THE ROAD AND STARTED DOWN THE 10% GRADE INTO THE GRAVEL PIT. THE JAKE FAILED AND DRIVER WAS IN TO HIGH OF A GEAR TO CONTROL THE TRUCK SAFELY. WITH OUT BEING TIED INTO THE BRAKES ON THE TRAILERS OF MY TRUCK THERE WAS LITTLE STOPPING POWER. DRIVER DID MANAGE TO STOP THE WRECKER AND THEN START IN A LOWER GEAR. BUT THE JAKE STILL DID NOT WORK. WHEN THE DRIVER COULD NOT SLOW THE WRECKER DOWN HE TOLD ME TO JUMP OUT CAUSE HE HAD LOST CONTROL. THANKFULLY THE WATER TRUCK IN THE PIT HAD MADE A LOT OF MUD AND THE KEARNS DRIVER AIMED FOR THE MUD AND GOT STOPPED. LONG STORY SHORT IT TOOK ANOTHER TWO HOURS TO GET UN STUCK AND THEN HE DECIDED TO TAP INTO THE TRAILER BRAKES. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A FMCSA AUDIT AND I PLAN ON MAKING A CALL TO THE FMCSA TO REPORT UNSAFE PRACTICES. CONSUMER BEWARE

NO Stars from me

No Stars From Me! I called on a Monday with a fairly rushed large bus tow job. I gave the Manager on Duty Lisa all the details I could. She asked the address, and I told her. I also mentioned that I was looking at a photo of the location, in which she could clearly see the logistics we`d be dealing with on the tow, on google maps. She said she`d look and get back to me with pricing. This was about 10 in the morning.... view more I hadn`t heard from her by about 3, so I called again. She`s out, I was told, so I left a message. 4:45 p.m. came, and I still hadn`t heard. So I called again- she`s gone for the day. Eight o`clock the next morning, she calls and says she wasn`t able to find it on google maps- which means she didn`t bother to look, because it was obvious. So she tells me she`s going to send a guy out to look at the site, and will call me back. Well, here it is 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, 36 hours later, and still no call. I am baffled by this customer service approach. Needless to say, due to disinterest on their part, I have located another towing service. How can they stay in business if they turn away their core business? Hopefully they reap what they sow.

My car broke down last week and kearns towing was fast to pick it up and was fairly priced the driver was clean cut and very friendly

Not true to their word!

My husband and I were driving on Christmas day in West Jordan when we got stuck on the road. The wind and snow were so heavy we couldn`t see more than 3 feet in front of us. We decided to pull our car up onto the sidewalk so to be sure we were not in the way of city plowing. Needless to say, we were towed anyway miles away near Copperhills High school. We talked personally to the owner, Jan, of Kearns Towing, and she... view more quoted us the outrageous price of $338.30 for us to get our car plus $15/day for it to be in the lot. The next morning we arrived at the impound lot, and our car was buried in 2 feet of snow. We talked to the workman who told us the bill was $363, plus a fuel surcharge of $35, plus the one day fee of $15, total $413! We mentioned what Jan had quoted us over the phone, and he called to Jan to confirm. While on the phone she denied having quoted us the cheaper price (even though we wrote it down and asked several times!). She agreed to lower the price by $10 but then slapped on another $15 for being in the lot that morning (even though our car was in the lot for less than 24 hrs). So the total came out to $418, $65 MORE THAN WE WERE QUOTED over the phone with the owner. Makes you lose faith in the goodness of people.

I guess the customer isn`t right with this business. Think twice about using Kearns Towing-
