Reviews:

My salesman, Jake Wade, was nice enough, but started `negotiations` at $2200 above the price advertised online. Once I pointed this out, he quickly backtracked when there was `no way` he could go down on price before. I secured my own financing for the vehicle, and requested that they not run any inquiries on my credit report. The next day, I woke up with 9 new inquiries on my report from various auto finance compani... view morees, and they have done NOTHING to help remove/reverse these unauthorized credit inquiries. I also traded in my previous Honda, and two weeks later the credit union (also in Utah) hasn`t received a payoff check despite me hearing `the check was mailed four days ago` multiple times. However, they were very quick to cash the check I gave them for the new car. While signing the final paperwork, I overheard two salepeople talking about a customer that just left. They called him a "f**king idiot" for not knowing the exact mileage on his tradein. The Acura is nice, but I`ve never had a worse buying experience. I`ll definitely go elsewhere when I`m in the market for a new car.

I recently bought a car at Mike Hale Acura and took it in to their service department for pulsating brakes. Andy (the service manager) went above and beyond to ensure outstanding service and care. Andy had the capacity to understand my frustration and provide quick solutions all with a friendly/warm demeanor. He even took the time to personally show me cool tips and tricks inside the vehicle. When asked for a shuttle... view more ride, he provided a nice loaner vehicle for the night. In short, even after a somewhat disappointing experience with the sales dept, Mike Hale Acura`s service team (specifically Andy) redeemed Mike Hale`s reputation in my book!

Sold me a lemon. Car had been used for racing.
I purchased a 2004 Mazda with low milage from this company. Three months later there was a rattle in the engine. We took it to be repaired and found out that the car had been used for racing and the engine was shot. They knew this when they sold it to me. They saw me coming. It cost me $3,200 to fix the engine. I would never ever by a car from these evil people.

Beware of Mike Hale
I purchased a low mileage 2006 Nissan Maxima from Mike Hale. Nissans are great cars. Shortly after I purchased, I found that the front right wheel bearing was bad and the front shocks were making excessive noise. I asked Tracy Johnson, my salesman, if they would at least have their service look at the car. He said they would not do that. I finally spoke with Rod, the sales manager and he relutantly, after a long... view more phone call, agreed to have their servie department look at the car. They found the bearing was bad and the front struts were making excessive noise. This escallated to Mike Hale, the owner. We talked on the phone and he spoke to me condescendingly. He told me that is what happens with used cars and if it were perfect, he would have had to charge me $2k-$3k more for the car. This logic would lead to the conclusion that they knew of the problem before they sold the car to me.

Before I purchased the car, Tracy Johnson assured me their mechanics had thoroughly inspected the car and found no problems with it. All Mike Hale would do was offer an employee discount on repairs. This would save me maybe $50-$75 on $1000 in work.

Mike Hale would not stand behind one of his high end use cars. I spent almost $20,000 on this car and would not expect it to have such major problems. I would recommend that everyone stear clear of Mike Hale`s Acura dealership in Salt Lake and his Chevy dealership in Park City. There are enough other great dealerships around. You should not have to visit one that deals so dishonestly.

As a side note, the financing department almost charged me a couple thousand dollars more before I caught their ""mistake"". Be very careful when doing business with Mike Hale if you ever do.
