THEY ARE THE WORST SERVICE DEPARTMENT EVER
THEY ARE THE WORST! I WOULDN`T GO BACK IF THEY PAID ME. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN SANITY. LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DEAL WITH THESE IDIOTS!
I`ve been into this store for service three time`s and I can`t believe I ever went back for the third time. They are the slowest, most incompetent group of people I have ever seen. It took them 5 hours to put new tires on my daughters car. It took them two days to install a stereo... view more. And for the final straw, it took them 21/2 hours for an oil change and that`s with an appointment.

I have always had great service
My first time there I had my oil changed & the cap fell off after I left the shop, splashing oil all over the engine. I took it back & they fixed it right away. The break line went out on my other car, since Pep Boys was just down the street, I took it there. They gave me a discount for giving them another chance & have never let me down since. Also, I get GOOD coupons & gift cards in the mail from them all the time.... view more To me, it seems they care more about their customers than their bottom line.

Pep Boys: You can only cheat the greedy or miserly
I guess I deserved the bait-and-switch. I suspected that I have a failing oxygen sensor in my ""brand new"" (hand-me-down from wife) 1990 Subaru Legacy.
Called Pep Boys and they said we`ll make you an appointment for a free code pull (from the on-board diagnostics) and then if we get that code we can test your O2 sensor for free.
When I arrived for the appointment The manager claimed that their tech was out fo... view morer training and it was a last-minute thing. He then tried to get me to make an appointment for a ""driveability"" assessment for $89.99.
I believe the parts and labor for replacing this sensor is about $80.
So it serves me right to try and get a free diagnostic...shame on me
and shame on Pep Boys for the obvious bait-and-switch

Avoid at all costs!
Pep Boys turned a simple repair into a disaster, and basically destroyed my car. Worse yet, they refused to own up to any mistake, and they mocked me.
Do not patronize this shop unless you want to gamble on the risk that even simple repairs can end up costing you thousands and thousands.
