Totally Tried to Rip Me Off!!!
I took my 2004 Porsche Cayenne S to have the driver`s side turn signal light bulb replaced. I felt I probably could have done it myself, but I had the money and didn`t want to. So, I took it to Hitech Automotive. They had done my inspections for about 10 years, so I thought I would give their service a try. When I got my car back and $400 later to replace one light bulb, ALL the lights, headlights, turn signa... view morel, high beams and the side turn signal, did not work on the passenger`s side. If you have a Porsche, you know that the dash board pretty much tells you when ANYTHING in the car is not working. When I called them back, just as soon as I got home, the owner told me that, ""Oh, this just happens with German automobiles."" Okay, I might be blonde but I`m certainly not stupid. I told him I highly disagreed. But what else could I do? Now, I thought, the car will not even pass inspection...Great. Well, I did some home auto repair and replaced the passenger side`s turn signal bulb, since it was easiest to get to, to no avail. Before I took it to another shop, having heard horror stories of $1200 headlight replacements on my clients` German cars, my boyfriend and I again took apart a large portion of the front end and, low and behold, the entire headlight assembly was DISCONNECTED. I`m sure it did not become disconnected my itself. I guess the guys at Hitech just thought I`d be dumb enough to bring it back to `have them fix` this, too. I guess they chose the wrong `dumb` girl to try to pull the wool over. I will NEVER trust them to fix anything of mine again....And neither should you!!

Highly recommended
I took my car into hi-tech after being referred by a friend who has been a customer of theirs for ten years now. My Volvo needed major work after being in an Accident, hi-tech assured me that they would be able to Fix my car at a reasonable price. Sure enough I was very satisfied with the service there. Not only did they fix my car by the time they said they would, but they also lend a loaner car in the mean time. I... view more dealt with the owner directly the entire time, and he was very honest and straight forward the entire time. I am very satisfied with the service at hi-tech, and I Highly recommend this place!!

Messed up my car then treated me disrespectfully
Took my car to Hi Tech Auto to have the motor on the windshield wiper fixed. It was reasonably priced and we were very happy with the time/quality of service. However, after I took the car home, my husband pointed out a large (10 inch) crack in the windshield. Immediately I turned around and took the car back. I tried to speak to the owner/manager about it and he freaked out on me. I told him I was happy to let hi... view morem keep the money I` d already given him, I just wanted the windshield fixed. Literally was YELLING at me in front of other customers. He called me a liar and claimed that there was no way they could`ve made the crack. Then proceeded to throw my money back at me and tell me to ""get out"" and that he didn`t want my ""kind"" here. I`ve NEVER been treated so unprofessionally! If it wasn`t for this incident, I would have been satisfied. But now I tell everybody I know DO NOT GO TO HI TECH AUTO ON CONGRESS.

Great Customer Service with a smile :)
I am so happy with Hi-Tech. The owner or someone from the family is always there so you know you are in good hands because they take care of every customer personally. I always take my car there for everything from inspections, and oil changes to transmission work. they have always offered me competitive prices, they even gave me a free loaner car once! i send all my friends there and everyone comes back happy! They ... view morehave been there for many many years, and i am sure that with customer service like this they will continue in beautiful Austin for years! Thank you Hi-Tech!

A/C Rip-Off
Do NOT leave your vehicle at Hi Tech Automotive for AC repair. No consultation was given before $260 in work was done AND the AC still didn`t work!

Jury is still out...
I bought my car from here and it was a very good deal (i think?). It was cleaner than everything else in the price range and to top it off they gave me a 6 month engine and transmission warranty and free oil changes(Excellent!)
Unfortunately when all discussions were done regarding pricing they pulled out the title and I realize that it had totalled/Savaged written on it. WHAT?! The owner insured me that he didn... view moret realize this was the case so he moved a little on price and offered a windshield replacement below cost (had a cracked windshield).

We ended up buying it as it was well priced and very clean (both inside and out). Unfortunately a few months in it leaked oil. Fortunately they honored the warrenty and fixed a head cover gasket for no charge. Then a month later it was leaking again. This time they told us they fixed the leak and changed the oil but didnt specify what the cause was. Needless to say about a couple months later I realized that it was still leaking so I took it in again. They looked at it and told me that it was something like the chain cover seal or something I cant remember. They charged me about $250 saying it was fixed and sent me on my way.
Guess what, a few months later it was STILL Leaking! I took it back again (fool me twice shame on me) and they looked at it and said there was two loose screws they tightened and it should be fixed (no charge). Well its now a few months later and its still leaking. They looked at it this time and are now saying that its the head gasket and are telling me that since I bought the car from them and am a customer they want to keep they will only charge me $600 to fix it. I think I`ve learned my lesson and will have to take it somewhere else to be checked out(Probably Ben White Automotive).

I Do NOT Reccomend Hi Tech for Auto Repair
For several years my wife and I took our vehicles here for repair. We noticed a decline in service and communication over the few years. Last year they told us the transmission of my wife`s car was shot and needed to be replaced. They installed a rebuilt transmission for close to $2000.00 with a 6 month warranty. In the first few weeks after we got the car back my wife noticed that the car was shifting strangely.... view more We took it to Hi Tech and they said that nothing was wrong. A few weeks later we returned b/c it was still happening and again they said they didn`t notice anything. This happened several more times and we were frustrated and unsure as to whether we were imagining it. We took the car to two other auto repair centers who told us that the transmission was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. Hi Tech would not help us since it was out of the 6 month warranty, even though we had brought the problem to their attention several times DURING the warranty period. In hind sight there are many ways that we could have handled this better, but we trusted Hi Tech to not take advantage of us. I do not reccomend Hi Tech to anyone any more and I do not believe they can be trusted.
