Best Customer Service, hands down!
I fell victim to a car accident about two years ago and was introduced to Marty DeShavo for some repair work at the River Oaks Chrysler Body Shop. He and his team went on and beyond the call of service to not only help me through the repair work but also walked me through all of my options, the insurance estimates and paper work. Not only was he helpful, but more importanly honest; I always felt comfortable dealing w... view moreith he and his staff. Since then I have come in for numerous repairs: simple broken window, missing side mirror, and costly ""fender benders."" All of which we handled with the utmost professionalism. By far the best auto repair service, hands down! I would not take my car anywhere else.

Service Dept = Dishonest, Horrible Service
I was in a front-end accident in April 2009, and my insurance company sent me to River Oaks Chrysler for repairs. I had major damage to the front passenger side, but I was assured and felt confident in dealing with Dennis that everything would be taken care of. He immediately put me in a rental, was extremely personable, and I had felt like I could trust them. However, I got my car back and things were never the s... view moreame. First, they hadn`t repaired a bent wheel, so upon accelerating, I had horrible shaking in my steering column. Took the car back, got the wheel replaced, and then I heard noises that I had never heard before. There was a definite clunking sound periodically, especially when I made turns. I was told there was nothing to worry about. They had test driven the car, everything was fine. TWO YEARS LATER in March of 2011, I was making a turn into a gas station and the passenger side of the front axle dislodged from my car. I immediately called the insurance company, and upon their advice, took the car back to River Oaks Chrysler so that they could honor their warranty - this was obviously a result from that collision, as I had had no other damage to my car since then. Sure enough, a bolt had not been secured properly, causing the axle to fall out, creating other damage as it went. (I love to wonder what my fate would have been if I had been traveling faster than 10 mph.) The repairs were made for free, I was put in a rental car for free, and I eventually got my car back... only to hear a different kind of knocking this time. But after all of this b.s., I was pretty much used to my car not being in pristine condition. I was again told that they made sure to check out everything! (But they missed a headlight that had been jarred out of place. I had to take the car in to have them put it back.) Now, just a few months later in October, I started to notice my transmission slipping, and I was leaking transmission fluid. When the axle incident occurred, I told them that I noticed a great deal of transmission fluid on the ground. But I also realize that my car was creeping up on the 10-year mark, and maybe, just maybe, the transmission issues could be from normal wear and tear... that was until my car came to a gear-grinding halt at an intersection. I again called the insurance company and several mechanics. I was told by a reputable transmission shop that it sounded like it was an issue with the trans axle. If I was able to push the car while in park, it wasn`t the case of my transmission just dying. After more than a week of hassles, the car went back to River Oaks. They failed to put me in a rental car, they failed to tell me that they were taking responsibility and fixing my car. I played phone tag for over a week trying to get information from them. When I was finally told that they had replaced the trans axle at no cost, they then told me that busted engine mounts were the cause of the problem, and that I would need to pay $650 to fix them. ""They should`ve been replaced at 60,000 miles. It`s something that should be normal maintenance."" I called them on their lie. The engine mounts should`ve been replaced after the accident, as they are there to protect the engine in the case of a collision as shock absorbers. They did their job, and they then needed to be replaced - kind of like a fiberglass bumper. Good for one use. But, for the past 2 years, my engine has been knocking around, getting worse and worse. And now they wanted to lie to me and tell me it was routine. Ha! I asked them if my car was able to drive, and I came to pick it up. When I asked for paperwork to document the repairs, Marty told me there wasn`t any, and he walked off. My insurance company is now taking care of the repairs at another shop. They acknowledged that the engine mounts should`ve been replaced the first time around. You`ve really got to wonder about a business when an insurance company, of all things, makes them l

Good Experience
Well appointed and friendly, knowledgable staff. Was given options and solutions, not problems. Very fair on pricing and time of repair. Have an Enterprise on site as well, which was a plus. Overall, time and money well spent. i would recommend them to anyone after this!

Great service
Called from the accident scene, and he walked me through everything that i needed to do. I filed a claim from the scene, and by the time my car was towed to the shop, he had already contacted my insurance company and reserved a rental car for me. Great ending to a horrible incident.

Outstanding Dealership-AWARD WINNING
From the first moment I walked into River Oaks, I was greeted professionally by Yves Dupiche. Who in turn showed me the vast selection of new vehicles to choose from. I purchased a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 that was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I was taken to Peter Koempel (Finance Director), who I was VERY impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. I have taken my truck into the Service Department 3 times, ea... view morech has been perfect. They have an ""Express Lube"" center that got me in and out in less than 20 minutes--Wow! (not once, but twice)I was IMPRESSED! Sean Potter helped me in the main Service shop for a minor Recall. He was the most professional Service person I have ever dealt with in 30+ years of driving. I would HIGHLY suggest this dealership to anyone in the Houston area. I have tried others in the past, but now I know where I will go from now on. Keep up the OUTSTANDING Service!

NO AWARD WINNING SERVICE DEPT.
I took my jeep in due to a growling sound from the drive train. I wanted to drive with the service manager but was told that only techs do test drives and they are not at work yet. I went to work where I received a call telling me it was definitely my transfer case no doubt. I never got to take that test drive . After spending three days with a rental, the part was in and my jeep is ready. When I arrived the service ... view moremanager said"" now that we fixed the transfer case, you can hear grinding still from your differentials"". Sorry but it is still the exact same noise as before. The mechanic miss diagnosed the problem and realized it after he made false repairs. These guys even put on my receipt that we did free inspections to see what else was making the grinding noise proving they realized they still had a problem.Pushing the buck is a standard here. This dealership will not be around much longer so please do not support them and they will be unable to scam anymore.

GM & down don`t care
Wow. Where to begin. This Houston institution couldn`t care less about it`s Rep. I don`t get it. The people with character don`t stay there. They can`t stand the atmosphere. Now I know why after my own personal experience with ""Managers"", ""ASSistant Managers"" and now the ""General Manager"".They spoke to me repeatedly in a tone that was superior in both human existence and intelligence. In fact, neither is applicabl... view moree. They seem to take the ASSumption that everybody they speak to is stupid before they even know with whom they are dealing.IF I were stupid I would still deserve courtesy and respect since I hadn`t done anything threatenig or vile.Unfortunately, I bought a car from this place BUT I had such a pleasant experience with the Sales person. I didn`t think I would have to deal with the Managers anymore. They don`t service their preowned cars well before putting them on the lot. They halfass their screening. And do the minimum. If you find a car you want very badly at THIS dealership.Take the time and spend the money to have it checked by an unassociated mechanic beforehand. But I BET Helfman River Oaks won`t accept any repairs the mechanic suggests because EVERYone ELSE is trying to make money NOT their dealership. They won`t ""buy"" what another mechanic has to say. So keep that in mind and get something as official as possible. Perhaps and computer printout of the evaluation from your mechanic.

Horrible Service Department
Every time I take my Jeep Grand Cherokee to the service department at River Oaks Chrysler Jeep it comes back with more problems than it came in with. The original problems are rarely ever fixed either. I have had my brakes and rotors completely replaced TWICE already (within a year) on my 2003 Grand Cherokee, which I barely ever drive. They use low quality parts so they will break and you will pay them to repair the ... view morecar again.
