RIPOFF - MANAGER A LIAR
I TOTALLY AGREE. Just took my car there and William, the manager, ripped me off almost $500 for a tune up and a transmission oil change (did not change the filter but charged a full ""transmission flush""). He said there was no transmission problem and that the expensive tune up will solve the problem, but the car was the same during the drive home. I took it back and he wanted an additional $1000 saying there`s a... view more transmission problem! HE WILL CREATE CAR PROBLEMS WHERE NONE EXISTS. He is a ripper. There was no transm problem - it was the catalytic converter.

Solved a problem no one else could find
My Ford Ranger pickup has had a problem since it left the factory. The first clutch lasted 22,000 miles and the second really heavy duty one lasted about 40,000. The wear occurred most when I was just driving along and not shifting or touching the clutch. I`ve driven manual transmission vehicles all my life and never had such a problem.
The first time I had it replaced I told my story, but the repair shop thoug... view moreht `that idiot is riding the clutch and wearing it out`. So, they slapped in a new one and sent me on my way. This time I went around to several repair shops and told them my story and that I didn`t just want a new clutch I wanted the problem fixed. They either didn`t believe me or thought there were easier ways to make a buck.
I finally went to Frank at Eagle trans. in Rowlett. He listened to my story, didn`t believe my diagnosis which turned out to be wrong, but agreed to figure out what the problem was. They disassembled it and inspected and measured everything and found nothing obvious. Frank called experts at Ford and at parts suppliers and tried to find a logical explanation for this problem. He finally concluded that the master cylinder on the clutch pedal was not releasing the pressure properly when the pedal was released. This was causing pressure build-up when things got hot and allowing the clutch plate to partially release and wear rapidly. He replaced the master cylinder and the problem seems to be fixed. The clutch feels better than it ever did and I fully expect it to last a very long time.
Thanks, Frank for the time and effort you put in to diagnose the underlying problem and truly fix it.

I`ll come back
I will go back there and I`ll tell my friends too. I have a Mercedes SLK 350. It started jerking a lot when I backed up and then tried to go forward. I think that a Mercedes shouldnt do that, but the dealer said some of them do. This all started right after the dealer charged me a fortune for a major service. So I asked around and my neighbor said to just stop by Eagle Transmissions in Rowlett. They`re on Rt 66 and I... view more`ve seen the sign before, so I did. They drove the car around the block, came back smiling. He checked the fluid in the tranmission and added some. Bingo - smooth driving - for the price of a little fluid. The guys were so nice and honest - they could have probably sold me anything, but all they wanted to do was make my car work, and they did. You can trust these guys to be fair. I hope we never have to have a transmission rebuilt, but if I do, thats where I`m going.

These guys are great
Its not easy to trust men in a car place because lots of them seem to think girls are pretty stupid. Well, I`m not stupid. I asked some friends and they said to take my Corvette to Eagle Transmissions in Rowlett. Yes, I drive a Vette but I am not made of money and I told them that before we even started. They drove the car, and came back and told me the transmission was just fine. There was a wire of some kind that ... view morecame loose. They fixed it for $25. They did tell me that I should probably have it drained and new fluid put in and I knew that already so I will take it back to them after next payday. I think I am real lucky to have found this place. I dont know about other Eagle shops, but the one in Rowlett is great.

Even Out-of-Towners Get Great Service
If you have a transmission problem, go to Eagle in Rowlett, Texas. Frank and his crew are world class. Story? OK: I was coming into Dallas on Interstate 30 in my RV, built on a Ford Super Duty F-550. This is a 4x4 vehicle made for serious off-road excursions. It has Ford?ˆ™s ?ˆ?Low haul Torque Shift 5-speed transmission. Coming across the bridge on Lake Hubbard I noticed my transmission temperature was pegged. When ... view moreI got off the bridge I stopped and did a quick Internet search for nearby transmission shops. It never occurred to me to take it to a dealer. I?ˆ™d been ripped by them too many times. On the map I saw Eagle Transmissions on Highway 66 and decided to check them out. I?ˆ™m from out of state, and this truck is a new rig to me, so I was pretty much at their mercy and feeling very vulnerable. Good places are usually busy, and this place was, but they made time to take a look. Turns out that the temperature sensor had a problem and they fixed it in minutes. I had feared all kinds of possible things that could go wrong on a complicated rig like this one, but these guys are honest, courteous, and obviously proud of doing quality work for fair prices. I told them that I?ˆ™m heading deep into Mexico so they checked out a few other things just in case. All told, I was on my way in about an hour. Since I was just passing though, I cant become a repeat customer ?ˆ“ so I guess they treat everyone this way. You cant beat that. Go there.

good price and service
My son had taken his pickup to the Dodge dealer and was quoted a very high price for a rebuilt transmission. I urged him to try Eagle Transmission in Rowlett as Frank had helped my wife when we thought our van needed a new transmission. (it was only a sensor) Any way they fixed his transmission for less than half of what the dealer wanted, and got it ready the next day. My wifes van is still doing fine as well. Hone... view morest people and good work!
