My rear brakes started making ...

My rear brakes started making noise on the way home so I stopped at Kwik Kar, they said it would cost $49.00 for an inspection even though the right rear brake was the only tire making noise. After they looked at it I was told that I would just have to pay for the inspection and parts. When they finished I was told the bill was $94.00 dollars, 49.00 for the break inspection and $45.00 for labor. All the mechanic did ... view morewas replace one part to get the break shoe back in place. I told them for $70.00 more I could have gotten a complete rear break job and he just looked at me. They are rip offs, do not take your car to them for repairs or anything else. If you have to push or tow your car to another repair place do it.

Wow, what a terrible place to do business with. I, like others, also had problems with getting a vehicle inspected that they have previously inspected. The employees are different every time I have been there to get my vehicles inspected the last two years. That Lance guy (the owner) is the worst of them all. I got ripped off $40 for nothing. My vehicle easily passed at another inspection station. Also, three other c... view moreustomers were all asked to come to their vehicles to be sold substantial additional work. One customer had all the work they wanted him to purchase done by them in the last three months. So they tell people their vehicles need work that is unnecessary too. What a shame that this place gives such a bad name to the other hard working mechanics doing an HONEST days work. When I told my brother what had happened he apologized to me for not telling me thay had left his truck over two quarts low on oil after he paid them to change it. This is really bad because he is an invalid just barely able to get around. Avoid this place like the plague it is, there are better shops deserving of our business and money.

DO NOT USE

I took my car for inspection and they failed my for a small crack on turn signal...the same CAR and same CRACK on turn signal they PASSED me couple years ago ( I bought that car with it and passing inspections for 6 years ). The owner said :" WHY DID YOU COME ON FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH...OF COURSE YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL".... I would recommend this place to my enemies only. DO NOT USE!

I have had several bad experiences with this company. First time I had ever gone to them was back in 2005 for an inspection on my 67 Ford pickup. They tried to fail it for three different things. First I only have lap belts; they tried to tell me I have to have shoulder belts. The truck was not required to have any safety restraints. Second thing was reverse lights were not working. For being an old truck it was not ... view morerequired to have any reverse lights. Final thing they tried to tell me was both head lights were out and tried to charge me 40 or 50 for each one. Funny thing is they forgot to close my hood all the way so I looked under it and both were unplugged. For a 10 dollar item that was one big markup. In mid 2006 I brought a 97 Monte Carlo for an oil change. When I tried to leave it was having a hard time to keep running. They tied to tell me it needed a new fuel pump and a fuel regulator valve and was trying to charge me over 300 to fix it. The vacuum hose had been pulled off the fuel regulator valve during the oil change. On 02/27/2010 I brought my corvette in for an inspection and it failed due to the tread on my tires being worn down. The tires are still pretty new and have plenty of tread. Although they did not try to sell me a set of tires they still failed it for a false reason. I went to two other inspection places to have it looked at, and both places said nothing is wrong with any of them. I drove the car back to Kwik Kar and they still insisted on the tires were bad. I ended up calling the Texas Department of Public Safety and got a officer out there. The officer said my tires were fine and they had to pass me. The kid doing the inspection mouthed off to me when it was all done saying ?ˆ?This POS should of failed inspection?ˆ? right after he slammed the door of my car. I will never bring any vehicle back to them ever again. Now I have a new set of tires hading my way costing over $1300 and don?ˆ™t need them for another year or two. Zippy Lube in Saginaw has my business 100% now. Only reason I did not use them is the dyno had broke and may be a week or so before the parts come in.
