steer very clear
Worked with Joe on this one to get a fender replaced. And he was generally very cool. Took the car in, he said he could get the deductible down to almost nothing, I said great. Joe calls and tells me that I`m looking at $85 for my part of my $300 deductible and the car will be ready in a few days on Friday afternoon.
Called Joe to get an update. Joe calls back and leaves me a message that the car will be ready... view more by the afternoon and bring $200. I call back and ask what made the price go to $200? Joe then says, ""what did I quote you before?"" I could tell he was kind of embarrassed. Anyway, we agree $100 will work and he says come see him to get the car.
Go to pick up the car an hour later (about 3PM), Joe`s not there, everyone`s gone. The detail guy Mario is there manning the counter to collect cash and distribute keys. Between the misquote and the body shop leaving the detail guy to deal with customers, I`m getting a bad feeling. Car looks pretty good, except the shade is a tad off and the gaps could be much better.
I call back the next Monday to speak to Joe about the paint and the gaps. Joe says the car looked good to him, but bring it in. A couple days later I get time to take it in. Joe tells me he`s sick and probably leaving for the day, but call back and see if he`s around. I call back. The phone lady, Mrs. Sessler, asks me who I am, takes a moment to think, then says Joe`s............unavailable. I get it. I leave my name and number, which she`d already taken down before and knows exactly who I am.
So I decide to call back and see if someone else can look over the car for me if Joe`s not available. And I get the pleasure of speaking to one Mrs. Sessler. Now let me tell you folks, this lady is a piece of work. Really bitter, sharp old lady.
So she gives me this snooty line ""is this the one where we saved you so much on the deductible?"" What she means by her tone is ""why are you bothering us since we saved you some deductible, just go away."" Now I`m pretty annoyed. I ask her who she is and what her function is at the shop (basically why she`s meddling in affairs between me and Joe). She says she`s part owner. So I ask her ""does saving part of my deductible for me mean I have to take the car AS-IS from the detail guy and then never say a peep."" So then she gets real chippy. She says I can bring the car back in, but they would CHARGE me for correcting the paint and gaps. Unfortunate thing is, I was under the impression that`s what I paid for in the first place. Apparently me bugging her for a properly aligned, correctly colored fender is a problem, so when I continue to argue with her, the last words I get are ""oh my god."" Then dialtone. Is it company policy to hang up on customers that were left no recourse other than to accept the car as is, or pay more money to have them fix the car properly?
So, long story short, I won`t be going back, and the money I ""saved"" on the deductible will have to be spent somewhere else to straighten up some things. So what`s the point? Why not just take the whole deductible and do a knockout job?
I won`t be back and I`ll be calling my insurance company to see if I can get a note put on their record. Will also be putting in a compliant with the BBB. Mrs. Sessler, I gotta believe you`re riding the coattails of what your husband or father put together, but you`re really ruining things with the F-you attitude. I certainly will be going out of my way to make sure nobody I know will ever give you business when they need some car work done. Liked Joe, Mario was reasonable, but you, you`re a real winner. All over an hour`s labor to adjust a fender.

Customer Beware
I WAS REFERRED BY A VERY GOOD FRIEND. I WAS TOLD MY CAR WOULD BE REPAIRED WITH OEM (ORIGINAL) PARTS AND PAINTED, BUT AS SOON AS MY INSURANCE AUTHORIZED IT. THEY THEN TURNED AROUND AND STATED IT WAS BETTER TO DO DENTLESS FOR THE SAME PRICE. I WAS ALSO CHARGED FOR AN ESTIMATE BECAUSE I WOULD NOT LET THEM DO THE REPAIR. COMPLETE LIES FROM THE START TO THE END. I AM SO GLAD I DID NOT LEAVE MY CAR. EVER HEARD OF SOME... view moreONE CHARGING YOU FOR A CAR ESTIMATE????????

Hail Damage!
I`m a good husband, so I was doing my husbandly duties and getting my wife`s car inspected/aligned/etc. a couple weeks ago. That, as it happens, was the day that God unleashed racquetball-sized hail upon north Austin. My SUV was estimated at $1,700 by my oh-so-trustworthy insurance adjuster. When I chose to take my car to Jeff instead of using the insurance puppet mechanics, it turned out being the best part of th... view moreis whole ordeal.
My car was fully cleaned and looked over in detail. All problem areas were circled with a wax pencil, and they called up my insurance to show them any spots ""missed"" in the adjuster`s original estimate. The long and short is that my [unnamed] insurance company agreed with Jeff`s repair estimate of $4,200. After a week and a half with Jeff and the boys, I have my beautiful 2004 Toyota 4Runner Sport back in my possession.
Initially impressed by Jeff`s professionalism but skeptical of everyone, I looked them up on B?«tter B??siness B??reau (tinyurldotcom/c9hz4t) before making any decisions and found an A+ rating...now I know why! Thanks, fellas!

Great Workmanship, Poor Communication
Jeff`s Auto Body Repair is a good choice if you`ve got a prized vehicle and want a quality repair that doesn`t cut any corners. However, they may not be a great choice if you need your vehicle back on time. The service manager said in that usual, vague way ""we`ll shoot for Thursday"" but I got my car back 6 days after that, largely because (according to my insurance company) the shop lost 3 workdays plus a weekend w... view morehen they faxed an estimate to the wrong number and didn`t follow up until I called to ask if my vehicle was ready. I`ll likely go back to Jeff`s next time if the collision is another driver`s fault, but if it`s on my insurance and I`m paying for the car rental I`ll likely use Rebreu since they also gave me a decent repair and were on time.

They stand up for you!!!
I was truly blessed to find these guys. By chance, I happened along these guys after an accident. In the past I felt obligated to negotiate and ""work"" with my adjuster. The result was that inferior work had been done and my car was never the same. Not so with Jeff`s auto body, these guys stood up to the insurance company for me and made sure that my car was repaired properly. In fact, my car actually drove better t... view morehan before the accident!!! Much smoother. I am very thankful for their honesty and good work.

I love Jeff`s!!!
I absolutely love these guys! As much as I hate to admit needing body work so often, unfortunately I do! These guys took care of my 2000 Impreza for about 5 years always making it look perfect and late last year I bought a brand new Corvette and they have worked on it 3 times already matching the paint perfectly each time and working with my crummy insurance company. For all the money I give insurance companies... view more, they never want to pay to fix my cars the right way. Lucky for me, Jeff`s always fights them for me and my car always has new parts and drives wonderfully. I don`t know what I would do if they ever shut down. Everyone I know goes to them now and I always refer people to them and people are always telling me how much they loved them too!! It`s family owned and they are all so friendly, which is hard to come by these days. Jeff`s is the absolute best!!!! If you want outstanding work, and trust me because I am very picky when it comes to my cars, this is the only place to go!!!

most honest shop in austin
I have been doing business with Jeffs Auto Body for several years, and would recommend them to everyone. They are the most honest business I have ever dealt with. The repairs on my vehicles have always been perfect. As to them being in good with the insurance business quite the opposite is true. They will fight the insurance companies everyday to get your vehicle repaired the correct way. I will never take my car any... view morewhere else. Jeffs is a family owned business and has been in business for over 35 years. That says a lot in todays come and go business world. Keep up the great work guys.

excellant repairs and customer service
In response to urdeedeedee? You must have something up yours. I haven`t met anyone who has had any bad reviews with this company. If you kept having problems why go back? Something fishy with your comments. As for the rental company giving kick backs that is a lie. I manage a rental car company and we never give kick backs. The insurance company is the one paying for your rental not the body shop. Also Jeffs is def... view moreinately not in with the insurance companies as you claim. They work for the customer and only the customer. Insurance companies have body shops that do discounted shoddy work for them but Jeffs is definately not one of them. I recommend Jeffs to everyone I know.

Not any better than the rest. Will lie to you about time to complete work.
To mandarinz who also reviewed Jeffs: Jeff called the rental car place on your behalf because he gets a kickback from your rental. He was interested in money, not helping you.
I`ll just summarize the experiences my family has had with Jeff`s over a 10 year period.
1994 Ford Taurus:
Incorrect gap between front fascia and bumper after repair. Took a week longer than promised to complete repairs. Insur... view moreance paid the bill.
1995 Camaro:
Poor hood to nose alignment after repair. Took 12 days longer than promised. Insurance paid the bill.
1998 Ford Explorer (in absolute mint condition prior to wreck): Tried to total the vehicle when it only needed a replacement fender and a door painted to match and bolted on. Finally agreed to paint and install used door and fender after a lot of back and forth arguing with myself, Jeff, and insurance company. Discoverd a slew of electrical problems after we got the truck back, however this could be a Ford issue. Truck had zero electrical gremlins before accident. Insurance paid the bill.
Inquired about body work on my 70s Firebird and was told ""That`s a project car, sorry can`t help you."" Then they went on to tell me how they would love to buy the car and restore it in their shop.
Simply refused to do body work on my mid 80s Monte Carlo. When asked for a quote was told ""Uh I dunno, five thousand dollars."" in a very sarcastic tone. Very unprofessional behavior.
RUN, don`t walk, AWAY from Jeff`s. All they want is insurance company jobs where they can make a quick easy buck. Quality of work has been going downhill since about 1998.
