My family has bought at least 3 cars from AJ and we all are happy with the cars and after sale service. He tries to fix the small issues even after a couple of years at no cost. AJ and his dealership is highly recommended!!

Just want to take a moment to thank AJ at longhorn sport imports for helping me with my car purchase last month.
I bought a honda civic from him and everything (from car inspection to signing the papers) went really smooth. Surprisingly he didnt try to shove a car down my throat and gave me as much time as possible to decide if I want to buy one 2011 civic in their inventory.
****He gets 5 stars as an honest bus... view moreiness owner and salesman!!
I recently brought my honda civic to have the oil changed and was surprised at how well I was treated. Instead of having to wait, he gave me the loaner car to run my errands. To my surprise, he not only changed the oil but also gave me a free car wash and vacuum.
****He gets another 5 Star for the service he provides to his customers!!

A review for Longhorn Sport Imports
I recently moved to Temple from Ohio and bought a car from AJ for my wife. At the end of the whole process, I realized that I was one of those really Difficult customers that businesses dont want but AJ dealt me with a lot of patience!!..First I test drove at least 8 sedans at his lot and spend 2 hours to decide what I actually want (I knew I wanted toyota but indecisive between corolla and camry)...He gave me the ke... view moreys of all cars that i wanted to test drive. That day I left without making a deal but I decide to buy a camry. I tried to negociat the price of 2 camrys on the phone and schedule a mechanic inspection on the weekend. The mechanic inspected one car and gave me a positive report but I renegociated the price based on a few issues with the car. after almost 3 weeks, I was ready to sign the papers and bring my car home. Next day, I got a call from my wife from her office that the car does not start. she was panic!! I called AJ and he took the number and address of my wife`s work place. within 45 minutes, he was there and it turned out that my wife left the car with lights on and the battery was drained. He charged the battery and the car was good to go. From the whole story, it looks like that we bought a car from a dealer who works hard to address all the concerns of his customers and thats for me is an excellent service!!

Easy Car buying
easy to deal with. I got a fair price on my trade in and got a good deal on the car I purchased. i was looking for a low miles corolla and found one in their inventory. AJ was not pushy at all, very laid back. I left happy with my purchase and would definately buy from this guy again. See you there

We bought a Rav4 from this place recently. It took me two months and about 5 central Texas dealerships to finally find my dream ride, at Longhorn sport import.
Being from San Francisco, I feel like I come equipped with a pretty sensitive BS detector. Every dealership I walked into had the typical cheesy, grimy sales guy who knew close to nothing about cars, and had to hand you off to about five other people who ... view moreare the "decision makers" in the place. It was a nightmare!!!
Eventually, I found the exact car I wanted on Craigslist.org. I finally Went there that afternoon, test drove the suv and came back home to think about it. AJ Knows his cars and is easy to talk to and just super knowledgeable about his inventory. After I went through the whole car buying deal with him, I can see a huge difference, He is actually HONEST. Even when I went to my credit union to get my final loan approval, my loan advisor there also couldn`t say enough good things about him.

I`m by nature hesitant to make...
I`m by nature hesitant to make large purchases where I have to deal with sales people who can be pushy and make you feel rushed. Buying a car from a dealer certainly falls in this category. I am also not likely to post a review on Yelp since I`m generally too busy and don`t take the time to do so. In this case I feel inspired and somewhat ethically obliged after my awesome experience with A.J. at Longhorn Sports Impo... view morerts to write my first Yelp post. I see here that I am not alone in my experience.
My wife and I`ve been looking for a car for over two months and frankly at the end of our rope with the hunt for a reasonable deal. Finally we came across a Craig`s List posting that we couldn`t pass on (below Blue Book) and I called A.J. From this point on my search was effectively over and I felt good about just about everything that followed. Below is a simplified point by point sequential accounting of my experience.
1) I visited the lot on a hot afternoon, not in the best mood to buy a car. I certainly went in doubtful that I`d walk away happy. I met A.J. and told him I wanted to test drive the C.L. posted car. I got no pushy sales tactics, just the key. I drove the car for a few minutes to convince myself that the car was reasonable and then went to talk with him.
2) Apparently there was an error in the C.L add. An assistant had posted it $500 below his intended asking price. I became a little skeptical at this point - thinking it might be a ploy of some sort. After some research, he figured out what had happened, explained it and he agreed to honor the C.L price. $500 below his intended asking price and well below Blue Book.
3) Then next morning, after meeting with my wife, I drove to his lot and agreed to buy the car pending an inspection - I gave him a $500 deposit. I paid for the inspection and A.J. drove it over, saving me the time.
4) There were a number of minor problems with the car and he agreed to fix them all including break problems that he had fixed at a local Honda Dealership. It was not cheap. It took a while, since there were problems with the diagnosis and he ended up paying for unnecessary work. He called me when it was done.
6) I picked it up. It wasn`t cleaned and detailed when I first test drove it, but now it was and it looked great (better than when I agreed to buy it). The replaced parts were in the back of the car and he had receipts for all new parts and work done. He gave me two programed keys (one he just bought new). I was very impressed.
7) Slight snafu when I got home. I realized that there was no inspection sticker as he said it would. I called A.J. and apparently the repair shop he used thought he wanted a used car inspection not a state inspection. The next day he picked the car up at my house and took care of it and registration to boot.
I hope I`m not jumping the gun by posting this after only having the car for only 3 days. If I have major problems I`ll post again. I really am not sure if he made money on this deal and I can only hope by posting here that I drive some business to him. I have no significant complaints about A.J. and honestly feel that he is the best car dealer I have ever dealt with. He seems a little over-worked perhaps; always getting calls on his cell phone, always a bit in a rush, and some things listed above took longer than ideal. He was looking for a new runner at the time of my purchase. His one-room windowless car lot shack could stand some improvement, but I guess that`s how he keeps prices down.
Next time I buy a car I will go straight to A.J. and skip the hassle.

No long story to tell here but I liked one of their cars on Autotrader and scheduled a test drive. The test drive was smooth and car was in good condition (needed some detailing though). I paid deposite and picked up my car after a day by paying the remaining balance by personal check. AJ is professional and very To-The-Point. If you ask him a question, he makes sure that you understand all the relevent details but N... view moreo other BS!!....
The five stars for his nice words when I was about to leave the lot with my car:
"if I can be of any assistance ever or you have any issue with the car, you know where to find me..."

Good Car Buying experience
You never know what you are going to get when you purchase a used car. It can be a scary experience for the uninitiated. The guy at Longhorn Sport import made it easier and less traumatic.
I stumbled upon their ad for the SUV that I was looking for on Craigslist. They had it listed about 2,500 dollars cheaper than anywhere else.
I went over there on a Saturday afternoon the check it out. The cars that they ha... view mored is stock were quite impressive. No junkers to be seen. The vehicle that I looked at seemed to be in great shape. They told me that every car that they purchase goes through a third party inspection. I asked if I could take the car to my mechanic and they said it was fine to do so. My Mechanic checked the car thoroughly and gave me a report that indicated a few minor issues. I also checked Car Fax report and decided to buy it. They gave me a decent deal on the vehicle, and they gave me a nice trade in on my rust bucket, Altima that doesnt run.
If you are looking for a decent price on a used car, I would add this place to your places to look. The owner and the sales people were easy to deal with and the selection of cars is pretty good.
