I was able to get some help, and dropped the Jeep off around 10:00 AM. I called Jeep Masters at 2:00 PM, and they had already completed a very comprehensive diagnosis to determine the engine condition, specifically looking for a blown head gasket or cracked head. They described several tests I was aware of, and a couple I had not heard of before. Hearing the descriptions, I was convinced they had done what they were ... view moretelling me. They did determine the overheating was caused by the radiator cap not holding pressure, as I had suspected. They found a bad throttle position sensor that was setting the check engine light; the hot coolant had gotten into the wiring and shorted out the sensor. They also found a couple of other, non-related items that I optioned to go ahead and take care of, since they had access at the time (bad ignition cables and rotor, and throttle body contamination buildup).

I traveled to Austin recently to participate in a week-long technical conference. I drove in from Houston, about 200 miles or so, on Sunday afternoon to attend a meeting that evening. My Jeep was overheating for much of the way, boiling coolant out through the overflow tank, and spraying it all over the inside of the engine compartment. I made it into Austin OK, and called my brother in law in Round Rock, north of Au... view morestin about 30 miles, and asked if he could pick-up a thermostat, a thermostat housing gasket, and a radiator cap. I left the meeting about 10:30 PM, and went to get the Jeep and go to Round Rock. I didn`t make it onto the freeway before something failed in the engine emissions control system, causing the engine check light to come on and remain illuminated. My Jeep was running, but was now missing and surging in an alarming manner. I drove about 4 miles north and gave it up as a bad choice. I manged to limp back to the downtown hotel I was staying at, and parked in the hotel garage. I searched the internet for Jeep repair shops in Austin, and Jeep Masters came up as the first hit. Several other shops were listed as well, but Jeep Masters had a couple of strong points in their favor for me. Of all the other shops listed, they had the highest number of positive customer reviews, and they were located only 2 1/2 miles south of the hotel location. I called them Monday AM and spoke to Cecil, who suggested they could tow my Jeep in if it wasn`t operable, but in any event to bring it on and they would take a look at it that day.

Great front office. Great mechanics. Honest, reliable and dependable service. We`ve been in Austin for a little over three years and Jeep Masters has consistently performed reliable and honest service on our almost-20-year-old Wrangler going beyond the call of duty to make sure everything goes smoothly. From transmission mounts to fuel pumps they`ve kept the old beast running even after I bollocksed it up in the Chih... view moreuahua desert. And they stand behind their work: a fuel line broke after a recent fuel pump replacement and Jeep Masters paid for the tow, replaced the fuel line and had it done in less than 2 hours. And they did it all with a smile. Just like every time. Trust Ray and Bo with your Jeep.

I was very pleased.. Fixed my jeep`s rear end for a fraction of the cost from other places that wanted to replace the entire rear end.. Jeep masters was able to fix the existing one! Very pleased and would recommend them to anyone who owns a jeep!

I wanted new tires, rims and a lift, so I checked around and got quotes. Out of the five places to give me a quote, Jeep Masters was not only the best deal, but the most honest of the lot. Ray took the time to explain to me that if I got more than a 2 1/2 lift, I would have to have my jeep regeared; something that the others failed to mention. There were a few minor delays and changes to my order (none the fault of... view more Ray or Jeep Masters) and even with those the end result was a very satisfied customer. Will I return to Jeep Masters for any further necessities or wants? Most definitely. Would I recommend them to others? In a heartbeat.

Being a woman I was nervous about taking my Jeep to any one new but Jeep Masters was wonderful. I had been taken advantage of by mechanics and just didn`t want the hassle again. I had been left with a huge problem by another shop and decided to take a chance on Jeep Masters. Beau and Ray went above and beyond earning my trust and treated me with respect. I still have a couple of more issues to clear up but everything... view more they have done so far has been fabulous. I won`t go anyplace else.

The guys always do phenomenal work - and they know their stuff. If you have a jeep and are looking for an honest mechanic - you found em at jeep masters. Bo and Ray know Jeeps like the back of their hands. I would (and have many times) recommend these guys anytime you need quality work. I`d also recommend you get a jeep if you don?ˆ™t have one - then go to jeep masters :)

We took my wife`s 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport to Jeep Masters for the first time a few months ago for an oil change and check up for recommendations to bring the Jeep up to good running condition. Bo outlined all of their recommendations and ordered them by most important priority. He took the time to give us rationale for all the repairs and this was very helpful. We found their estimates to be more than competitive... view more after having some more emergent care done at a later time. Finally, we came back to have some of the work done on the list Jeep Masters gave us. Without unnecessary details, the process was a bit complicated but I just want to say that I found Bo and Ray to be two men of great integrity, and men of their word. I don`t know how long we will keep our Jeep, or if we will get another one in the future, but either way, I strongly encourage anyone with need for Jeep repairs to take it to these guys first, and last!

Absolutely Fabulous! I took my Toyota Rav-4 to Jeep Masters for body work; it came out looking like a new car! My idea of a car is put the key in it and drive. If it gets you where you are going then, by god, you are good to go. Manny was the coup de gr??ce when it came to working with the insurance company! Dropped the car off, was offered a rental car, got a call my car was ready; that was it. I went to Jeep masters for my body work because they have always treated my son (who owns a Jeep) with fairness and respect. This is such a talented group of people, accomplished professionals! Kudos and thanks! Mimi
