Based upon my experience with Chuck`s, I would advise anyone thinking of using them as their mechanic to use extreme caution. After a summer of complete and utter disappointment with my wife`s car, we decided to give Chuck`s a try. During the summer of 2013, my wife`s car started having issues with overheating (and a strange gurgling sound coming from behind the instrumental panel) and the local dealer (Pat Lobb Ch... view morerysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram in Frisco, TX) was never able to figure out why despite numerous attempts. After I?ˆ™d completely lost all confidence in Pat Lobb CDJR?ˆ™s competence, I decided to take the car to a local mechanic shop (Chuck?ˆ™s Automotive Repair) hoping I could finally get some answers. I knew that PT Cruiser needed a new timing belt, but I was leary about getting the expensive repair because I still had the sneaking suspicion that all of the temperature control issues stemmed from a bad head gasket or cracked cylinder head allowing air to seep into the cooling system. So I had Chuck?ˆ™s perform a Block Test to give me piece of mind that both components were still intact before having them do any repairs. The PT Cruiser passed the test, so I paid them over $1,200 to replace the timing belt, the water pump, and a cracked fuel line. I picked up the car and drove it for about 4 weeks thinking that my wife and I were finally in the clear. However, the overheating and gurgling behind the instrument panel returned, so I went back to Chuck?ˆ™s to have them take another look. At this point, I didn?ˆ™t care what the Block Test said. I knew full well that SOMETHING was wrong with the head. Chuck?ˆ™s did some more tests, and Chuck himself determined that the thermostat was sticking and that radiator cap was bad because the cooling system was not holding pressure like it should. When he fixed those 2 things, he told me the temperature needle never even reached 1/3 during his testing. I would think this would be a red flag to an experienced mechanic given that engines already run really hot, and the only reason the cooling system is activated while driving/idling is when the engine is about to exceed the optimal operating temperature (1/2 mark = approximately 200 degrees F). I drove the car for another 3 weeks, and I thought that car was starting to return to normal since the temperature needle would now consistently reaching the 1/2 mark. One day, though, I was out and about when the car nearly overheated before it recognized that it was and the thermostat opened to cool the engine back down. After that, the ?ˆ?check engine?ˆ™ light came back on and I took it back to Chuck?ˆ™s. The associated error pointed to a problem with the thermostat. Finally, after 3 Block Tests (2 from Chuck`s and 1 from Pat Lobb CDJR), my worst fears were confirmed. The Block Test finally failed, and Chuck?ˆ™s told me that the PT Cruiser would need a new engine. When I was told that it would cost nearly $6,000 to replace the engine after I?ˆ™d spent upward of $2,000 to replace various parts over the previous 4 months that would now come with this brand new engine, I was livid. Needless to say, I haven`t been back to Chuck`s since. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of one is because the staff is actually friendly. One thing to keep in mind though...for all the money you spend on mechanics, do you really care if they`re friendly if they aren`t competent enough to fix problems that you pay them good money to have them fix? Friendliness doesn`t fix cars; knowledgeable mechanics do. Something to think about.

Great Service, Pricing and Work! Unbeatable Combo!
Let me preface this review by saying, I dont normally write reviews, because quite frankly there is nothing I feel the need to share. However after finding Chucks Auto Repair, I cant help myself but to share the wonderful place I`ve found.
I found Chucks Automotive Repair, while searching for somewhere to take my car. He had really great reviews so I decided to try him out. I was VERY impressed. For starters, He ... view morecalled me within 30 min of placing an estimate request on his website. He gave me the total cost of parts, labor taxes and everything, just from the little information I had given him. I brought my car in the next business day and he fixed me right up. Being a woman, I sometimes worry that I might be taken advantage of, NOT HERE! Chuck answered any questions I had patiently, and called me to update me on the progress on my car. He and his staff made me feel like a longtime friend, even remembering little details about my car I had mentioned in passing.
The pricing is also great, especially for the quality of work they do. I took my car in to get my window blocked, and he only charged me $25! Some other places i had gone charged me anywhere from $50-$75!
I would definitely recommend anyone to Chucks, and will definitely return for all my car needs, (Lets just hope I dont have to many!)
