Reviews:
Excellent service with a smile!
The entire staff at Ellis & Salazar was courteous and respectful from the moment I walked in the door. Kim was very kind and professional - a wonderfully inviting ""face"" for the company. The office is clean and comfortable, which is a huge difference from most body shops.
Steve was knowledgeable and confident while discussing needed repairs, reassuring in his ability to complete the repair, and in a timely manne... view morer. My vehicle was ready the day it was promised, clean and in pre-damage condition!
I am thrilled with the workmanship on the repair - but also with the superior level of customer service I received at Ellis & Salazar. I have recommended, and will continue to recommend, E & S to anyone in need of body repairs. Keep up the excellent work!

What I have to say after making the rounds...
Living in the live music capitol of the world has its perks. But it can also mean a few fender-benders and a renegade hailstorm or two. I?ve been around to the chains, the independent shops, and I?ve pretty much seen them all. Here?s what I have to say about Ellis & Salazar as an auto body & repair shop:
1. I got a good vibe: Instinct goes a long way in my book. The people here greeted me promptly, made friendly ey... view moree-contact, and expressed the information I needed to know (and didn?t drawl on about unnecessary details). I got no attitude, no schmoozing, and no talking over my head. I was just in and out quickly. It wasn?t as shiny as a dealership, but they gave me the vitals in a straightforward manner. No muss. No fuss. I?m in, out, and I feel like I?m leaving my car with people who know what they?re doing and won?t take me for the proverbial ride (pun intended).
2. Capitol of TX: As a tax-paying citizen, I like to know my rights and options. My insurance company had referred me to another shop, but it was inconvenient for me to use, and I couldn?t see why the shop they referred had any advantage to it. After doing some homework, I found out that TX law said I could choose the shop I wanted to work with. Ellis & Salazar took care of the rest. No more calls for me ? I was free to take care of other things.
3. Close to downtown: Needless to say, I?m not an early bird. I?m not the kind of person that wants to be up at 6 AM just to deliver my car to an auto shop on the other side of town by 7, hitch a rental, and then drag myself into the office before the coffee?s out. I needed a place that was close enough for me to take care of business over my lunch hour.
4. Local Business: They?ve been in biz here for 55 years. That means that they were here before Lucy In Disguise. (Who knew?) Austin is a small enough town that if they were doing bad business, you?d know about it. If they?ve held on this long, they?ve got to be doing something right.
5. Open books: If people really have nothing to hide, I want them to prove it to me. E&S gave me a ??check vehicle?? number, which allowed me to see pictures of the progress of my car on the Ellis & Salazar website every day. They also had an updated anticipated arrival date on the page. Because of this, I was able to check on the work they were doing and I knew that I wasn?t paying another day?s worth of rental car fees for my car to sit in a lot. If work was at a halt, they were clear to communicate that they needed a part. The old adage goes ??If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.?? I didn?t find that true at all here. I was able to make solid plans to return my rental car, more accurately estimate how much this accident was going to cost me, and a get a better grip on everything that was going on in between.
Overall, here?s to you, crazy rainstorm. And this one goes to you, Mr. Crazy Tailgater on I-35. I?m going about my business, and if we run into each other (yes, pun intended), Ellis & Salazar and I will deal with you with ease.

Aren`t they supposed to FIX damage???
I released my car from the towing yard to Ellis and Salazar on the First of October. It is the 25th now (this work was not supposed to take nearly a month) and they called me today to let me know my car was ""ready"".. Their standard of work is drastically BELOW average. My car had additional paint damage which upon informing them of this they told me that it was from rocks on the highway. It is SO obviously NOT from... view more that (and one of their own employees noted that it wasn`t from rocks on the highway). Do rocks leave spiral scratches? Say.. like a watch band would leave if you went from standing to kneeling with your hand on the car? NO they most certainly wouldn`t. Not only that but the windshield has so many little chips in it its like glitter almost in some areas. And if that wasn`t enough when I actually started the car it jerked so hard my body actually jerked in reaction to the movement. Upon further inspection they said the motor mount *may* of been damaged in the wreck as well. This is all after they called me to tell me that my car was ready to be picked up. The AC belt is now squealing (it is somewhat old but its a constant squeal now). My car is still there. They are going to fix my car before I pick it up, or they will be really unhappy with the results. If you want shoddy work and someone to come out and lie to your face get your car worked on at Ellis and Salazar. I would rate it LESS than one star but it won`t let me. Go figure. I will say that aside from the rest of the employees I give Anthony Diaz a thumbs up.. It has to be difficult working for a sub-par company.

THE BEST BODY SHOP IN AUSTIN
Makes no difference if you prefer the north or south location this is service the way its supposed to be! The body work is completed on schedule or sooner and customer service is second to none. These are people that take pride in a job well done !

Not much positive to say about this garage
I took a car I was considering purchasing to Ellis and Salazar. They happily charged me 80 bucks but failed to notice that the car was leaking oil from more than one place. They also told me that it needed brakes when it, um, didn`t. When I took it to another garage after I purchased the car (thanks to ellis and salazar`s recommendation) to get the brakes fixed I learned about what was really wrong with it. When ... view moreI called them and very politely informed them of their mistakes the guy on the phone LAUGHED. I might have thought it was funny if I wasn`t the one doing $800 worth of repairs on a car that I just thought needed brakes. Thanks guys.
