Poor Salesman Experience Ruined It All
I just returned from the Lexus of Austin dealership today on the 27th of December from what I can say was my worst car shopping experience ever.
I was very excited to be looking at a Lexus since it is finally time for us to get a new car, something that only happens every 5 years or so for us. This was not my first time looking at a Lexus but my first time at the Austin dealership. I walked in and started ... view morelooking at the Lexus RX350 they had in the show room.
A salesman walked over after a few minutes and asked if I needed some help. I said ?ˆ?Yes?ˆ? as I don?ˆ™t know much about this car. I said I was looking for the ?ˆ?C?ˆ? package I saw online, which included most all of the options available and that I was looking at how it compared to other cars like the SRX and MKX. He didn?ˆ™t really say anything other than shaking my hand and saying the car I was asking about started at 45,000. If that was OK, he said he could get me a booklet on the car.
Since we have been looking at a lot of cars, I have a full sized empty suitcase in the car to test the cargo space. I said I wanted to test the cargo space with my suitcase and I wanted to see how the dashboard looked when the car was turned on. To which he replied, ?ˆ?you mean like with a car outside??ˆ?
We went outside to find a car we could look in. He found one. I had to remind him I wanted to see the car on ?ˆ“ so he went back inside to get the key. We tested the suitcase and he turned on the car after having to ask yet again.
Then, he said he had someone else ?ˆ?in financing?ˆ? so he had to leave. He told me to just turn off the car when I was done. At this point ?ˆ“ I was done no matter what.
He did not offer me a test drive, he did not offer help from another sales person, and he did not tell me one fact about the car. It was a totally worthless and time wasting experience. Not to mention he made me feel like I was not worthy to be even shopping for a Lexus.
I have been to many other luxury dealerships in Austin ?ˆ“ they have all been great experiences. I would not recommend a trip to this Lexus Dealership any time soon for anyone.

I wish ALL companies did business like Lexus of Austin
I bought a Pre-Owned car from Lexus of Austin. My husband and I were thrilled with how great the experience was. Our car was spotless, almost like brand new, when we picked it up AND full of gas. Even though we weren`t buying a brand new top of the line car, we were treated extremely well. I can assure you our next car will be a NEW Lexus from Lexus of Austin. Every time I am there the people are helpful and friendl... view morey. I wish all my business relationships were such a joy.

Don`t go here
I went to the dealership and found the car I wanted. They were not giving me close to what my trade was worth and kept asking to run my credit for a ballpark payment. Credit was not the problem, their attitude is. The sales guy told me he would look for more money in my trade and I expressed that I did not want to loose the car I had seen. Till this day I have never heard from him. I drop to San Antonio and purc... view morehased my new Lexus form them. I recommend North Park Lexus. The dealership is much nicer and the sales people are not all older men with huge egos. After all they are just selling a really nice Toyota. DONT GO!!

Good Service, but Tough to Buy a New Vehicle From
Their service is very good. Loaner is always available and they will work with you on concerns. Alex Westhead is a great service advisor.
They won`t compete on new car prices unless you place a competitive quote right in their lap. This takes several tries by the way. Go to Sewell or Park Place in Dallas instead. Good experience there and better price.

Dont Buy your Lexus in Austin
I am a loyal Lexus Owner and have tried to buy my brand new lexus locally but I have saved thousands of dollars by going to San Antonio. I lease my cars every two years dont have a trade in and have had four leases through Lexus Fincanical Service. I have saved so much money and the sales people are so rude. They dont want to deal on the cars and they dont make you feel welcome. Plus, when I have brought my car in fo... view morer service its never ready when promise and never deal with the same service advisor . They always have new people working there. My car was even dented up in there parking lot. DONT DO IT! DONT BUY YOUR NEXT LEXUS IN AUSTIN. Going to San Antonio is so worth the drive.

They surpassed my expectations
I bought a pre-owned Lexus ES300 from them in December - it had too many miles to be Certified pre-owned and was bought ""as-is"" with no warranty. 10 days later the alternator died. I thought I was out of luck. I called Lexus of Austin and they immediately sent a tow truck, gave me a luxury rental car, replaced the alternator and battery within 24 hours, washed the car and did not charge me anything. They apolog... view moreised that I had experienced any problems. On a used car under $10,000 with no warranty! Now I understand why Lexus owners are so loyal - because the dealership is really loyal to their customers. What a great surprise!
