Friendly, Professional, and Trustworthy
Had my car in for some brake work. I know it needed new brakes because it had been squeaking for about a week and haven`t had the car for very long because I bought it used. The manager was very helpful. He gave me several options and picked one that best suited my limited budget. On top of that he pointed out everything that was wrong with my car and mapped out a game plan once I had more money to invest. He pointed... view more out the most important fixes, and of course maintenance work that could be put off for later. Best of all he wasn`t pushy and prices were reasonable without putting me off.

Honest techs, what more can you ask
I just brought my Lexus into this shop due to some squeeking coming from my brakes. They pulled the wheels off and told me that I don`t need a brake job at this time. They told me I had about half the life left on my brakes. I almost passed out that they didn`t try to sell me something. They said the vehicle was in good shape and didn`t charge me for the inspection. When I need my brakes done, I am coming back t... view moreo this shop!

not satisfied
I went in a month ago for an alignment after having new tires put on and the guy behind the counter was rude. Now I found out that yes the alignment was done but they left nuts loose and never mentioned that the driver side boot was damaged. I only found this out this weekend when I took it in for new brakes at another location. I did take my car back for them to look at the alignment again and ask them about the boo... view moret damage since it is under warranty but now they tell me that there is nothing they can do because I need to fix the frame first! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Save your time and money and drive past this place!!!!

quick oil change, good service
I was working in pflugerville for the day and decided to come by this shop for an oil change. They were real friendly and got my truck in asap. I was very happy with the service and the next time I am in the area I will stop by.

Round Rock`s worst brake shop
My bad experience & complaint is with ""Brake Specialist Plus Total Car Care #107"" at 1801 So. IH35 in Round Rock, TX. I took my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport in for a 59.95 "" one time alignment"", (front-end). (1)-There`s a sign on the wall that reads ""Free brake check, & tire rotation, (4) tires. In order to do front alignment, I needed to swap (1) front bad tire with (1) rear good tire. Well John, I`m assuming is t... view morehe manager and/or owner tells me that`s an extra $5.00. (2) Five minutes after driving my suv into a bay, John tells me that I need balljoints in order to do a good alignment. Cost $450.00. I never had front-end, or tire problems before my son lightly hit a curve. Had suv for 7yrs. I told John just align what they can. Ten - fifteen minutes later John tells me they could align one side only, and that it will still pull to the left. He still charged me the full $59.95 + $5.00 (tire swap) + $3.90 (supplies) + .32 (tax) = $69.17 total. Go figure. When I told him that the $59.95 advertisement is just a LURE sign, he went off the wall, in front of everyone. He started hollering at me. Cursing directly at me. Threating me. Hollering that he can take outside and beat the living...out of me. I was hollering back out of defense. I just wanted my car and keys to get out of there. But I was forced to pay first. I know this sounds hard to believe, but there were wittneses. At one time he said that my front-end was ""out of wack"". Well personally I think my car is not the only thing out of wack. I know the BBB is going to hear about this. Two other mechanics said my balljoints are not that bad. Warning; Please do not go there. Thank you for reading.

Crafty Conniving Mike
EH. Plenty of places give free estimates, right? I walked in to get a QUOTE on some work for my truck: New Spark Plugs, New Valve Cover Gasket and some linkage for my 4x4 shifter which came loose and fell off. Also, I wanted to flush/change things like transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering, etc. He said he needed to look at my truck to give me an accurate quote( which made sense for the linkage on my shifte... view morer). So I went home and came back an hour or so later with my wife following me in another car. I went in to drop off the keys and give my info and he printed out a $151.50 estimate-receipt for me to sign.... $47.50 for linkage inspection, $47.50 for SPARK PLUGS QUOTE!!! and $47.50 for NEW VALVE COVER GASKET! He was gracious enough not to charge me for the ""check engine light scan"" (which Auto Zone does for free) and he didn`t tell me what the fluid prices would be. Now I understand a man`s time is important but c`mon. I went to Auto Zone and got the plugs for $9.16 and the valve cover gasket for $15.99. And he wanted $151.50!?! ? for the estimate? I can only imagine what the total would`ve been. I had a lot of work I wanted done and I thought that I would be of some value as a customer but I felt like he was just trying to scheme me. Sure, he would`ve ""zeroed"" out the estimate cost once I got the work done, BUT that locks me into the work or get screwed on the estimate. I bet this guy takes advantage of people who don`t know any better. Maybe his work is good, but I walked out with a bad experience.

Fixed alignment issue from another shop
I had a tire wear issue after another shop had done my alignment. I decided to try this Brake Specialists for two reasons: I live up here and they have good reviews. They started to align the vehicle and noticed that I needed camber kits installed on both front wheels to stop the vehicle from wearing the inside edges of the tires. The previous shop never told me about my camber issue. I had them install the kits ... view moreand align the vehicle. They even gave me a print out of the alignment, so I have a record of it. The other shop never even offered me a print out. My conclusion after this experience is to only use these guys for alignments and no other shops. Thanks for the honesty and hard work.

Resealed my engine, No more oil leaks
I had been having trouble with my vehicle leaking oil everywhere. I was constantly adding oil to it every week. I finally got the money together and had the guys at the Pflugerville Brake Specialists reseal the entire engine. It took two days to get it done and they did a wonderful job. They cleaned the engine as they went, so it looked great when they put it back together with all of the new gaskets. It has bee... view moren almost a week and the engine is holding oil and no leaks have been seen. Thanks for the excellent work.

Repaired all of my front end issues
I had Mike at the Brake Specialists in Pflugerville replace some of my front end components. I requested MOOG chassis components only and he was more than happy to fill my request (actually my dad requested the parts, since I don`t know that much about cars). He even let me keep the part boxes. My front end is tight again and I will actually be able to keep truck from drifting all over the place.

They got me in last minute for an alignment/tire balance
Mike worked me in last minute last Friday for an alignment and tire balance on my BMW. I appreciated him working with my schedule. I will definitely be back to get my brakes done in about 2 weeks. Thanks Mike.
