When I was searching for a new...

When I was searching for a new transmission shop for my FLEET, I called ROB to come out to our location. I explained what I wanted and in return he explained what he could do as far as time and money. I have had several shops that talk a good game wanting your business and many have received it only to be disappointed in the time frame and the final cost. Rob has always kept me up to date on the status of each the current job. I`m only going to use one word to describe my relationship with Grapevine Automatic, and that is trust.

Excellent Customer Service / Pride in work Oct 10, 2011 by Don Hopkins Grapevine automatic rebuilt a transmission in an older pick-up of mine and backed the rebuild with a year guarantee / warranty. The trany worked fine and I had no problems. Several months after the warranty expired I experienced a small leak, took it back to Grapevine Automatic and Rob @ Grapevine Automatic took time to investigate, drive the vehi... view morecle and determine what the cause...he did this as part of the backed warranty / guarantee and in my opinion demonstrated excellent customer service. With this level of customer service and demonstration of the pride in their work, I would have absolutely no problem recommending Grapevine Automatic to someone needing Auto &amp;amp; or Transmission repair.

BEWARE - Dishonest

Took my truck to get transmission fixed. They said the clutches were worn and there was allot of debris in the pan, and it would require a total rebuild. So, I had them rebuild it. They also recommended a rear differential service. I agreed. Picked up the truck. The transmission worked...so far so good. I did however notice a slight &amp;amp;quot;shuttering&amp;amp;quot; when making turns. This was not ... view morethere when I dropped it off. I thought it would go away, but after 4 months, it did not. So, I took it back so they could check it out. They said the clutches in the rear end were worn and there was debris in the pan. They said it would require a $1,750 rebuild!!! I thought hummmm.... Flag 1: This is exactly what they said about my transmission!! Starting to recognize a pattern here... Clutches worn + debris = costly rebuild!!!!! Now I`m wondering if I really needed a $2,900 rebuild! Flag 2: My differential does not have clutches!!!! When I told him this, he agreed with me (hummm again, story is not matching up here). Since he said there was debris, I asked him if the gears where worn or chipped. His response was that they have not taken the cover off yet (Hummmm a third time!!) How could he know there was debris when the cover had not been taken off??? Oh yeah, don`t forget they just serviced the rear differential 4 months earlier. So, realizing this guy was feeding me a bunch of lies to get more $$ out of me, I got on the internet, found out what the problem was, went to the dealer, got an $11.00 4oz. bottle of anti-slip additive (required by this vehicle), squirted it in, and presto immediate fix!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! BEWARE!!
