Reviews:
Ali the owner of Oil Depot quoted me $1700 for an engine with 84,000+ miles with a one year guarantee. I agreed and Ali tipped the driver and he left, leaving me and my pickup. Ali and I went inside to discuss the ... view moredetails. Before I left the cost was up to $2100 for an engine with 50,000 miles and a 2 year gurantee because he could not get the other engine. I agreed to the new terms and paid $1400 for the cost of the engine. MISTAKE 2.
I was told the truck was ready on Thursday 9/22. When I went to get the truck it drove ok but the `check engine` was on. Ali said I had to drive it 100 miles before it would go out. I wasn`t willing to pay him the remainder of the money until the problem was fixed and there was no check engine light. I left the truck.
On Saturday 9/24 I called and he said the truck was ready. I picked up the truck, the check engine light was not on. I paid the remainder of the money and took the truck.
Later that day the check engine light came back on. I called Ali and he said to bring the truck back the next day, which I did. He said to leave my phone # and he would call when it was ready.
The Oil Depot had the truck for two more weeks and did not fix the problem. Each time I called the first week I received the same answer. They delivered the wrong parts. On Thurdsday 9/29 Ali said they had the parts and I could get the truck tomorrow. On Friday 9/30 I stopped by to get my truck and he said that the part he ordered did not fix the problem and he might have to replace a sensor.
He said to give him my phone # and he would call when it was ready. He had told me this several times so I was skeptical. Over the next 7 days I called 4 times and left my phone number and never received a return call.
On Saturday 10/09 I went to the Oil Depot to see Ali in person. He said the truck wasn`t fixed. When I asked why he hadn`t returned my calls he said he lost my phone # and offered to place my number in his phone book. I had given my phone # to him personally on 3 different occasions and to his employees on many other occasions.
I told him that I didn`t believe he was trying to fix the problem and I was going to file complaints with AAA, BBB and the state, and if necessary take legal action, against Oil Depot and Quality Towing. He exploded and told one of his workers to bring my truck.
Why take legal action against Quality Towing? As it turns out, according to Ali himself, both Oil Depot and Quality Towing are owned by him.
