Pep Boys Does Everything For Less

Pep Boys retail and service location offering a wide range of car parts and accessories, as well as auto repair services, oil changes, brakes, batteries, tires and state-required inspections.

Reviews:

Tried to take me for thousands of $$ for unnecessary repairs claiming that the repairs were required to pass the state inspection. Looked me in the eye and lied and then told me to `calm down` when I called them out on it. Liars and thieves. Will never do business with them or any other Lamb`s again.

Good Bargain
This place was recommended to me by a friend when I wanted to get new tires for my car. The quote that I got was the most pocket friendly when compared to other stores.I bought my tires from these guys and I am happy about it.

Stay away what ever you do !!!
If you want you car to be ruined and have to pay for it go here. Twice I went to this place and had plugs put in. The first time the car ran good for a few days then ran worse then ever. I checked the engine and everything they took off to get to the plugs were put back on hand tight at best. Some nuts and bolts had already fallen off. Took it back, so sorry sir lets us do it again I will see its done right, so ... view moresays Russel the then manager. I get in the car and the engine light comes on. Go back in and the mechanic, what a joke, comes and and he had not hook up one of the sensors. Next time go in with a mustang saleen, its a coil issue, ok fix it and repace all the plugs.Runs ok for a few days the almost dies, go back in and they say its another coil and they didn`t check the plug, test drove and and said it was done, the car was at least as bad as when I took it in. They say well the spark plugs usually gets fouled when a coil goes bad, we want another 80 bucks to fix it. Took it to another place, an actual mechanic, and he pulled the plug and the plugs contact points were touching!! And again everything they took off was not even hand tight. How do they stay in business?

Not to be trusted

I had been warned a few times about Lambs but they were the closest thing around at the time. I had to get a tire. They would OVER inspect and coming up with extra charges either unnecessary at the time, or simply wrong.
My ex had to get an inspection done, they would not pass it unless she spent around $2600. She went to another mechanic, $700 bucks only and it was all fixed, Lambs kept their inspection mone... view morey.
I have warned people, my friend said, they were rude to her, she needed an inspection on a brand new car, they couldn`t do it as they were too busy (more than 1 hour wait before taking a look), she asked, ok, i can`t wait, who`s around that could do the inspection? the Lamb`s employee was, I am not going to tell you, why would i recommend you to the competition? (they make a dollar for the inspection or so).
Avoid them at all cost unless you don`t care about your money and changing things that don`t need to be changed. (ie. told me i needed to change my rotors when i came for a flat), my rotors are in perfect new conditions. Always have a 2nd opinion.

Go to some local mechanic...not these chain stores....
Yes, Lambs is just another rip-off place like Firestone......they both offer supposedly free check with HUGE recommended unwanted replacements........I had a brand new belt replaced only before 3 months and they tell me this belt needs raplacement...when I asked a mobile mechanic to do me a favour and check my belt for free, he said belt is just fine....They are trying to make my purse just a little lighter....

Reconsider what they are telling you
My `97 Ford Explorer was having brake problems. I told the service man that the brake pads were still under warranty but I needed the rotors replaced. He did a check of the vehicle and discovered $2700 worth of repairs! I told him to do only the brakes. He said that the pads and rotors needed to be replaced. I said okay. I receive the bill ... $639. Wow! He charged $115 labor per axle. He charged about $90 each for t... view morehe front rotors and about $40 each for the rear rotors. He did not replace the brake pads because they were under a lifetime warranty!

These people are not to be trusted!

Lambs Tire and Automotive Centers
My daughter was hurrying to depart to Longview, after a several day visit with us in Northwest Austin -she found a dangerous situation in her trailer hitch requiring professional attention. We drove to the store-shop at Research, and one of the men repaired the hitch using vice, etc. He did not charge her, it was a most kind and appreciated help even to send her on a safe trip home. Thank you-this is not the time ... view moreI have experienced help from this company, and I am a repeat customer.

The Truth
Whats great about Lambs is they are incredibly profitable. They rip off customers who are not familiar with automobiles. I was a victim a year ago and warned everyone I could. Unfortunately a good friend had to get tires and went to Lambs :( During the visit they told him he had a leak and needed to spend $1762 to fix and replace a bunch of different things in his car. LUCKILY he went for a second opinion somew... view morehere else...guess what? A $75 clip/clamp FIXED the problem. Sooooooo, DON`T GO TO LAMBS!!!! I am saving you money!!!!!

Amazing service.
First: they offer shuttle service - a guy comes by to pick you up or drop you off wherever you need to be. I wouldn`t recommend abusing it - it`s not convenient for them and it keeps them from having as many guys as they need to work on the vehicles they`ve got in - but it`s incredibly handy and saved my neck while the car was in the shop.

Second: they take VERY good care of your vehicle. The car now drives be... view moretter than it has in the past year. These guys give off a very professional attitude - they really know their stuff. They`re also willing to admit when they don`t know, and let you talk to the actual mechanic who worked on your car. They don`t hedge, waffle, or say, ""Well, we`ll need to look at it first"" - they estimate, note the caveats, and let you decide when to bring it in.

Third: they fix it when things go wrong. It`s this that elevates them from `great` service to `amazing`. I took it in originally for a Check Engine light. They fixed it - but on the way out, the battery died. They put in a new one with no charge for labor and a discount on the battery price - they knew I couldn`t afford much and was already strapped for cash due to the last repair. When the light came on again a day later, they asked me to bring it in again, and replaced the part, which had been defective, at no charge. When the problem surfaced a third time, they traced it down to a completely different component and replaced it at no cost to me. Yeah, it was inconvenient to have the car go out like that, but sometimes those sort of things just don`t pop up and cry ""Fix me!"" on the first run through. They fixed it at no cost to me, apologized profusely, and made sure I got where I needed to go without any fuss - and they made sure my car works. I highly recommend these guys. Honest mechanics are hard to find.

Great Service With A Smile
This is the second time I visited the Cedar Park location as I live north. Both times the employees were courteous and respectful. They always run great specials. I had them do an oil change, but I waited an hour. They don`t advertise ""express service"", but the experience was pleasant and the guys don`t try to sell you anything. I`ll go back as a regular, satisifed customer.
