on June 6th I bought a Jeep cherokee from Discovery Auto Sales, I went there and to another dealership to compare since the price was atractive for us. The one at Discovery Auto Sales was by far in better shape and the service was quick and I i think the vehicle was a great purchase, just a few cosmetic details but nothing big. Overall I highly recommend this dealership. I had purchase several cars before but the pr... view moreices and the selection they have does not have match, or at least I haven`t fint it.

NOT Your Friendly Neighborhood Used Car Lot
We needed a vehicle and went to Discovery Auto Sales to find a car because we live in the neighborhood behind their S Lamar store. We found a 1999 Lincoln Town Car with 101,000 miles on it. Julian (one of the owners) seemed respectable, so we trusted him and his business to sell us a good car. After signing the papers on Friday, we drove the car home. The very next day, the car began overheating. We also noticed some... view more steering problems. Julian offered to fix the overheating problem and check out the steering problem. We took the car to their store on N Lamar. Three days later, the car is finally ready. They replaced the thermostat and the temperature sensor. Harry (the other owner listed on the BBB Website) told us that the car would need an idler arm and a pitmann arm. Harry also stated that they were unable to fix these parts because their garage does not have a lift. This is a warning to others who are thinking about buying a car from Discovery Auto Sales. They do not work on suspensions or anything under the car because they do not have a lift. This is a bad sign and demonstrates that the cars are not properly checked out before they are sold on Discovery`s lot.
We took the car to a reputable mechanic with whom we have a relationship with. He said that the car is unsafe because of the suspension/steering problems. He told us that if one of these parts were to break while we were driving, we would be unable to steer and we could possibly wreck. This is only one week later. The car was sold to us in this unsafe condition. We have the known idler arm problem fixed. In addition, all of the upper and lower ball joints were bad. So, we had these fixed. The pitmann arm could not be replaced because it is fused to the steering box. When we do have the money to replace this, the entire steering box will have to be pulled out. We picked the car up on the following Tuesday. The cost was $605. The mechanic informs us that the brakes are worn and all of the brake parts have dirt in them. Thursday, we take the car in to have the brakes done. We picked the car up today, which is Friday. The cost was $235. Remember, we have now had this car a total of 2 weeks and have driven it a total of 2 days.
Anyway, we brought the car home today. We go to the store, which is about 2 miles away. On the way back, the air suspension light comes on. We pull into the driveway and the back end of the car is scraping the ground. We will now have to have an air suspension conversion kit put on because the air suspension is bad. This will probably run us around $500.
We bought this car for $4150 when the cash price was $3900. Julian did not offer the cash price because we are financing it for 3 months. We have had the car for 2 weeks and will have put $1340 into it. This car should have never been sold to us in this condition!
People, please, learn from our mistakes and steer (no pun intended) clear of this place!! From reading others` reviews, I can see that selling shoddy cars is a normal thing for Julian (one of the owners) and Discovery Auto Sales.
We put down $2700 and still owe the remaining balance on a car that we have not been able to drive. If you are like us and do not have $1000+ to spend on a car immediately after you buy it, do not come to Discovery Auto Sales. I am a student and my boyfriend works to support us. STUDENTS stay away from this place! There are other car lots that actually sell good used cars.
