My 2001 Honda Odyssey trans fa...
My 2001 Honda Odyssey trans failed at 140,000 miles and needed a to be rebuilt. The transmission was diagnosed and rebuilt by Longhorn Transmission.

The Pro`s: I wanted to pay cash but did not have it all. They agreed to let me pay 1/2 of the bill after the transmission was rebuilt and 1/2 a week later. This was awesome!
The Con`s: Scheduled the van to... view more be dropped off on a Tuesday morning. They said it would be completed by Friday afternoon. I called on Thursday because I had not heard from them. Turns out they did not start the job until Wednesday afternoon. Friday afteernoon at 3 pm I still had not heard from them so I called them. They said it would be done on Monday. I explained to them that this was not our agreement and that was unexceptable. My wife had been without the van for 4 days now. I got the van back Saturday morning. When I got home I popped the hood and found the trans fluid 6 Qts. overfull, several harnesses not secure and the trans cooler that they added rubbing into the A/C condenser. Took it back monday morning and pointed out this poor workmanship. They took care of it. 5000 miles later the trans began slipping severly and slamming into gear between 2nd and 3rd. Took it back and they said they couldnt find anything wrong. They installed 3 new pressure switches at no cost to me. At 13,000 miles (1000 miles out of warranty) the trans began to shift like crap AGAIN!! One more thing: Longhorn trans was impressed with the milage on this trans before it failed~ apparently, alot these transmissions began failing at 50,000 miles. They were impressed that this one had gone 140K. I told them I had changed the fluid regularly using Honda`s $6 dollar a quart trans fluid. Later they argued with me because I wanted the Honda trans fluid installed after the rebuild. I WILL NOT RECOMEND THESE "PROFESSIONALS" TO ANYONE!!!!!!

A Great Experience.
We got a $6000 estimate from the dealer
We got a $5700 estimate from the insurance company
Longhorn repaired the car for about $2800.
This was the difference between getting our car back on the road, and having it totaled.

Honest People - Thank you!!
I have a Big Dodge One Ton Dually 4x4 Cummins Diesel automatic trans. My brake light was on, my odometer and speed-ometer did not work, and my auto. trans. would not shift out of 1st gear. I went around talking to different Transmission Shops, and they basicly all said the same thing,, big bucks to fix. My Son recommended LongHorn,, so I went and talked with Bobby Morgan, he was the only person that said,, well ,... view more, there might not be anything wrong with your transmission at all.. I had my Big Dodge towed in to LongHorn..,., and within 2 hours Bobby`s great mechanics figured out what was wrong,,, and then Bobby called me and told me exactly what was wrong and exactly how much it would cost AND there was nothing wrong with the transmission. When I went to pick up my truck, the brake light was off, the odometer and speedometer was working, and the transmission was shifting perfect,, and here`s the good part,, they got all that working for $200.46. WOW, now that`s awesome. I will always from now on,, only bring my vehicles to LongHorn Transmission. Thank you Bobby!!!!

Transmission Rock-stars!
This place is awesome. They told me the price before they started the work and when it would be done. They were on time and the price didn`t change. (Had opposite experience with other mechanics in the past)
The guys working in there were knowledgable and polite. I hope to never need to rebuild a transmission again, but if I do I will go there. :)

total disregard for my property
My transmission had been slipping for a few weeks. So I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee to Longhorn transmission , on 02/26/09. ""Give us a few hours and we will call you"" Is what I was told , Thats fine. I was called as promised , by the mechanic .He told me that he had driven the vehicle and couldn`t really notice anything, and asked me what the problem was !! A few hours later , get a call ""Transmission is totally... view more gone, it will have to be rebuilt "" . I reminded the manager that called me ,that I drove the vehicle to his business !!! "" Yeah well sometimes it just happens, could be working one minute , then stop the next"" . I told him ok then go ahead and do the work. Saturday I drove by Longhorn transmission (around 6:45 pm ) and noticed my Jeep outside. I turned around and went back to see why. And there is my vehicle sitting outside next to a bar with the windows rolled down (electric windows ) and the keyes in the ignition.....They are closed Saturday and Sunday . The transmission is out of the vehicle, the key is stuck in the ignition and will not turn or come out . The battery had been disconnected (no power to roll up windows or lock doors) . So I call the only # listed for them , no answer , no machine , nothing.... So all weekend my vehicle sat outside open to the public . I called Cedar Park Police department , and took several photos... Giving them one star , was being very kind... I don`t recommend this company to anyone.. I will post any updates ..

Got Transmission Problems......Here`s the Solution
I`ve used Longhorn Transmission for going on 10 years! I`ve had two transmissions rebuilt and several other repairs done at the pre-estimate cost or less. Their work is backed by a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty and they tell you if you have a problem after the repair to bring it back and we`ll make it right. I`ve talked to the mechanics that rebuilt both transmissions and they really take pride in their work and make... view more sure it`s done right the first time. Simply put, they do what they say and say what they do. What more could you ask for in a repair shop?

Best trans. Repair in Cedar Park/Leander Area
The staff over here is the best in Cedar Park and Leander. I have had all my vehicles fixed here at some point and it has always been the fastest but yet the best service ever. I have been the reason for the multiple times each vehicle has been there for service and fixing to take another vehicle there to have a second transmission repair because I have worn it out by pulling my travel trailer. I highly recommend ... view moreLonghorn Transmission over any other transmission repair facility in the Austin/Cedar Park/Leander area. Keep up the good work guys.
