The staff at AAMCO was AMAZING...
The staff at AAMCO was AMAZING!!! I had been running around town for 2 days trying to get my car fixed and nobody ever gave me a solution to my problem. They just kept me running in circles. I went to AAMCO and they assisted me with EXCELLENT customer service, and the wait wasn` long at all. They got me in and out and I am VERY SATISFIED with their service. Jason was the mechanic that serviced my car and was a BLESSI... view moreNG to me. I had spent over $400 for a new alternator, battery and spark plugs not including the labor I had paid to the mechanic that worked on my car. My battery light would not go off and the mechanic that had previously serviced my car could not tell me why. However, Jason found the solution to my problem. The wire that went from my battery to my alternator had been snapped so there was no power being generating to my battery or to my alternator which was causing my battery light to stay on and car shut off. Jason was so COMPASSIONATE about my situation that he was going to fix the wiring free of charge. He was a lifesaver so there was no way that I would have left with out paying him something. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends. The STAFF their is GREAT!!!!!

Avoid this shop if at all possible...
We were referred to this shop by our vehicle extended warranty provider. We only needed the ignition replaced since it had locked up, and they told us that they would order it and it would be ready in one day. After two days they had it ready for us, but informed us they did not replace the ignition itself, but replaced the ignition switch instead and that should fix the problem. We drove it for about three hours and... view more the ignition locked up again, stranding us at a store with our young kids at 9:30 at night. Plus, the headlights wouldn`t turn off once you turned them on, and that had never happened before. We had the vehicle returned to them and they said they would order the ignition and fix the lights, and they should have it done in a day. After five days, they finally got the ingition in and installed it, but said they didn`t see a problem with the lights. I went to their shop and demonstrated the problem. The owner/manager Joseph told me that since the lights turned off eventually it was okay that the switch wasn`t turning them off. I told him that was because of the bypass that kept the lights from running the battery down, and the switch should be working. When I pointed out that the bell was dinging to tell you that the lights had been left on and the door was open, Joseph told me I should just shut the door and the dinging would stop. "Yes" I said, " but the lights are still on!" Joseph then offered to go to another customer`s vehicle that was the same make and model of mine and "borrow" (aka STEAL) the switch from his vehicle in order to fix mine. I was shocked to hear him offer to remove a working part from another customer`s vehicle and install it in my vehicle to fix what his technician broke. I told him I no longer wanted him to do any more work on my vehicle and I would get the problem fixed elsewhere.
Three more days and several hundred dollars later, a factory dealership diagnosed and replaced the lights assembly switch which had been shorted out. Upon reading the Chilton auto repair manual for my vehicle, I found that if you don`t place the key in the on position before removing the ignition it will short out the other switches in the steering column. Oh, and by the way, that first switch he replaced was probably shorted out as well due to this issue. And I figure if I could figure that out, a paid ASE certified technician should have known that.
After being lied to, given the run-around, offered stolen parts from another vehicle, and having a one day job turn into 9 days of inconvenience and headache, I cannot say it strongly enough- run, don`t walk, away from this business!!!!!
