Chasing customers away
I own 3 Harleys and 2 Hondas and was told by a friend I should check out this shop for repairs. Stopped in and went into the main area but saw no one so went to the service area to see if anyone could help. 4 fellas were chattting or wandering around (no one was actually wrenching on a bike) and I was asked if I needed help. I said a friend of mine told me there was an excellent mechanic here who knew alot about Hon... view moredas. I was told he was not there right now. This is where it should have ended BUT then this same guy told me ""next time you come here go to the office and ask for help instead of interupting us and stopping our work out here"". 1st, I stopped no one`s work and the amount of time I took from his valuable day was approx 1 min. That 1 min of his precious time was not worth a potential new customer. What it did do however is LOSE not me as a customer but all my friends that ride with me. Typical 60`s Harley mentality. If that is the attitude I am going to receive from someone I am going to pay, forget it. Not only that, their phone number is no longer in service. I would put a big ZERO on recommending this place to take your bike.

THE TRUTH
WOW!!! To the author learn the facts!!!!! Cycle Tech was in the location until they moved over a year ago. They are now in a totally different location. We are so blessed that you are so worried about our shop. It is so funny that every time you write you open a new email to try to make it look like you are not the same person. The author of the previous comment, ken mcdee, aka jose imenez, aka analertconsumer, and so... view more on is the same person. If you look he has also writtin about Motorhead Performance, and Alamo Performance using the same names. The author just likes making trouble because we asked him to come get his car. We at Good Ol` Days Garage and Bike Shop would like to say thank you for getting our name out there for us. Everyone can tell that you have nothing better to do than pluck at a keyboard all day and try to make up lies about us. To everyone who reads this we would love for you all to come meet us and find out the truth about Good Ol` Days Garage and Bike Shop. We hope you all have a great day.

Tommy Eure and Good Ol Days Ga...
Tommy Eure and Good Ol Days Garage moves from Ingram, Texas to Kerrville, Texas= some things don`t change= Buyer Beware. Rather than provide a review of this business and the owner`s certifications in Auto Mechanics or Auto Restorations, just Google the words, Tom Eure and Good Ol Days Garage. There are numerous negative reviews about this owner and his shop. Ask to see Tom`s or Tommy Eure`s training and certificatio... view morens in auto restorations or auto mechanics. The Bike Shop is probably run by a different gentleman that is a good motorcycle mechanic. Is Tommy Eure also a motorcycle shop mechanic and also certified in exhaust shop work or did he merely buy a tube bender and claim he installs exhaust systems? In short, ask Tommy Eure to produce his training, ASE certifications, and auto mechanic coursework. Why not ask him if he is also a plumber and electrician. Buyer beware! Ask for written estimates and please watch your auto parts with Tommy Eure and his Good Ol Days Garage, Kerrville, Texas. Note: Tommy Eure is also a small time Alderman and Volunteer Fireman for Ingram, Texas. This does not qualify him to be a certified ASE Mechanic or Auto Restoration expert. Find out about the qualifications of the other staff working for him at his auto shop. See if they have ASE certifications or current training in any automotive field. You may be surprised what you discover.

Tom Eure moves from Ingram to Kerrville, Texas= buyer beware
Tommy Eure aka Alderman Eure and Volunteer Fireman Eure, just moved his Good Ol Days Garage from Ingram, Texas to Kerrville, Texas. Rather than write another negative review of this business just Google or conduct a Yahoo Search with the following: Tom Eure and Good Ol Days Garage, Texas. It`s your money. Ask to see Tommy Eure`s certifications in auto mechanics training, ASE certifications, or any current trai... view morening in auto restorations. Now he is also a motorcycle shop, and an exhaust shop. Is this also a plumber and electrician shop? Just be an aware consumer.

Tom Eure when in San Antonio, Texas
I knew Tommy or Tom Eure when he opened a small one car garage in San Antonio, Texas. His shop was over on Rheindeer Drive in Leon Valley. He told me about all the customer problems he had. There were many. No one or two. I detected that Tommy had communication problems but I said nothing. We had lunch together once and he kept complaining about his customers. I tried to stay on his good side. One time he took my car... view more and parked it at his home. I thought this would be for a few days. But, it was for months. Then he kept telling me that he had higher paying customers who came first. I finally told him I had to pull out the vehicle. He suddenly moved to Ingram, Texas and left no forwarding telephone number or address. When I tracked him down in Ingram, he told he had customers in San Antonio that he did not want to talk with ? When he moved to Ingram, Texas he opened another shop. I understand he has had more customer problems. He is extremely touchy if you talk to him about what you want in your classic auto. Look, if you want to hand this guy a large deposit, not question him, and not question his ""crew"" (you wonder where they came from and what are their qualifications) then just give him your money. But, if you want a great restoration shop try shops like Jeff Lily in San Antonio, or Alamo Speed Shop. These guys have the expertise, knowledge, and are great to work with. The choice is yours. You can drive to a small town in Ingram, Texas and work with a guy who is largely unknown (do a google search on Tom Eure or Good Ol Days Garage), or research a good and competent shop. It`s your money. Also, don`t let the title of Alderman or volunteer fireman persuade you. Those titles have nothing to do with automotive restoration ? Also, do you want a guy who is busy being a small town Alderman or volunteer fireman, or do you want a guy and auto shop who are a true restoration expert and has the time to work with you. I have nothing against Mr. Eure. He seems like a nice enough fella. But, where there`s smoke there is fire ?

Great Exhaust System Installed by Tommy
If you own an old Chevy pickup with a 235 and you want it to have a great sounding exhaust, let Tommy install a set of of Fenton headers along with a set of Smitty mufflers ! The old truck now has a nice dual exhaust system , with the growl sound I was looking for. The exhaust job was a very professional job ,thanks to the crew at Good Ol Days Garage! Tommy seems to have a great wealth of knowledge when it comes ... view moreto restoration of older vehicles,he certainly has helped me out a great deal! Maybe he can help you also.

Mr. Tom Eure and Good Ol Days Garage= Lousy Customer Service
Dear Readers: I also had difficulty with Mr. Tom Eure, Good Old Days Garage, Ingram, Texas. I understand that Mr. Eure was recently elected an Alderman for a part of Ingram, Texas. You would think that Mr. Eure would be a cordial, customer friendly merchant. Instead, he is, in my opinion, a mean spirited, argumentative, anger driven individual. I was truly astonished by this man`s lack of courtesy, insolent manner... view mores, and negative demeanor. If I was not a lady I would consider taking him across my knee and spanking him. He will never receive my business or recommendations regarding his lousy services again. Customers beware, watch your car parts, ask for an accounting of his drummed up charges, and insist on advising him that your the customer. I plan to also file grievance with the Ingram and Kerr County Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau and consumer agencies. Watch this man closely and ask what training his staff and he has. You will note few certifications.

Beware of Good Ol Days Garage; update Aug 6 2010
Tom Eure and Good Ol Days Garage joins BBB after refusing mediation. August 12, 2010.

Tom Eure, Good Ol Days Garage, joined the Austin Better Business Bureau (BBB) this week and immediately received an A + rating. However, the BBB will tell you that they are not an automotive rating authority and they do not inspect an auto business. Also note that Tom Eure is not ASE certified or rated by the Texas AAA auto r... view moreating service. There has been much criticism of the BBB and consumers note that they only highly rate businesses that pay a large fee to join their organization. They do not protect the consumer. Several internet sites indicate that the BBB only highly rates those businesses that pay a hefty fee to join their business. As a consumer read between the lines.
Just Google information about the BBB and see the surge in criticism. Then ask what is more important, to have a certificate from the BBB or to be certified in your automotive field ?

Also, regarding muffler shops there are a lot of excellent muffler shops that have greater expertise than Tom Eure. He recently purchased a pipe bender and claimed he his now a muffler expert. Check the prices.

The Better Business Bureau offered Tom Eure, Ingram , Texas` newly elected Alderman, and owner, Good Ol Days Garage, Ingram, Texas, the opportunity to participate in mediation to help settle a dispute and consumer complaint I filed against him. For the record, Mr. Eure refused to participate in the mediation and did not offer any resolution.

Be careful dealing with Tom Eure and Good Ol Days Garage, Ingram, Texas. The following is my opinion and offered as direct experience dealing with Good Old Days Garage.

Be careful when dealing with this shop. I had a good working relationship with the owner Tom Eure for several years. Then he apparently changed his policies when he moved from San Antonio, Texas to Ingram, Texas. All of a sudden he became a world renowned restoration expert. His policies and attitude toward the customer changed.

For example, he wants cash up front, does not provide you with periodic invoices, and does not listen to what the customer wants to have in his or her car. He then becomes annoyed if you try to get a word in. He also apparently only wants large deposits upfront. So, if you only have a small auto project, he will shun you to the back of the list. This was my experience. He may or may not treat you differently. You can`t get a word in when speaking with Mr. Tom Eure since, in my opinion, he talks fast (in a rapid, hard to follow fashion), does not slow down to listen, and is quick to anger. Beware !!

This was my experience. He may or may not treat you differently. You can`t get a word in when speaking with Mr. Tom Eure since he talks fast (in a rapid, hard to follow fashion), does not slow down to listen, and is quick to anger. I also caught him in a lie about a part he indicated he had returned to a supplier based on a core charge. It turned out that there was no core charge and they had the part hidden in the back of the shop. This event was witnessed in the presence of an Ingram City Marshall. I called the Marshall``s office to insure I would have no difficulty dealing with Tom Eure when picking up my car. I`m planning to report this shop and owner to the Better Business Bureau and Texas Attorney General`s office. Of course its your auto or classic car, and its your decision, but there are a lot of other restoration shops that will take the time to work with you, provide timely invoice updates, and treat you with the courtesy and respect you should incur-- whether you have a large project or small project. Also, check out the mechanic certifications this shop has prior to turning over your hard earned cash. If you want someone`s son working on your car who has no mechanical certifications then bring your classic car project to this place. Also check out the backgrounds, work experience, and certifications for the other individuals working in this shop. I did not see any certifications listed on the shop office walls or on Mr. Tom Eure`s website. Mr. Eure recently changed his website because he apparently was was using the website information from a world known auto restorer`s website. If you like a Good Ol` Boys type atmosphere, like a barnyard at Granny`s farm, then this is the place for you. There are dogs, sons, and grandfathers running around the shop. And, not in any particular order. The shop, with its cast of characters, lends itself to a totally professional atmosphere, if that`s your idea of how a shop should be run. Then you have to listen to the owner complaining about everything from the rent he has to pay from the leased building to not having enough parking spaces in the front of his shop. Finally, he will let your car sit if it is not a large money generating project. Then when a space opens up, he will want to do a rush job.If you question him he will tell you to come pick up your classic car and leave it out in the rain. This owner and shop are the epitome of what not to do or how to treat customers. In sum, the above is my experience when dealing with Mr. Tom Eure and Good Old Days Garage, Ingram, Texas. You may have a totally different experience with Mr. Eure. I hope you do. I offer this information solely as my own opinion based on my own experience. Addendum: April 17, 2010: If you read my first review about Good Old Days Garage and Mr. Tom Eure, owner, you will note that Tom Eure and Garage were allegedly using the same wording of another website for a well known auto restoration business in San Antonio, Texas. Apparently, Mr. Eure was advised by the other business since he has now changed his website. However, be aware of any individual`s business ethics, demeanor, and how they treat you. As a consumer you have that right. KM
