Honest, Highly Competent, Reliable - Highly Recommended
11/2011 - Originally took my 99 Olds to Midas the first time for what I thought would end up being a brake job. One other brake shop told me it would cost me over $240 for brakes so I expected the worst. They looked and showed me my brakes were fine and I didn?ˆ™t need new brakes yet. They cleaned out the brake dust and sent me on my way with a huge smile on my face. Tom, the manager, is fantastic and will help you get... view more your car fixed without the add-ons other garages try to stick you with. This honest Midas shop is HIGHLY recommended!
1/2012 - My 99 Olds 88?ˆ™s engine started to hesitate and misfire and so I took it to Autozone for their free computer diagnostics. The computer showed a P0800 error, which is a random engine misfire code. I did some online research and that code on that car usually means the problem can be a number of things, one of which is replacing a sensor which costs upwards of $500 to do. Had a previous good experience with Tom at Midas and so I took it to him to fix. They checked it out, and knowing my bad financial state, he recommended that rather than start fixing everything possibly wrong, I continue to drive it for a few more days to see if a specific cylinder error would be reported. Sure enough, five days later I checked and the error code now read P0801, which means cylinder 1 was misfiring. Pulled the plug wire and it came apart while removing it. Replaced the plug wires and the 88 engine purred again. Total cost - $40. Tom and this Midas shop is a Godsend!
2/2012 - My wife swerved to avoid a dog and hit a curb full speed in our 06 Saturn, bending something in the suspension so that the front left wheel was pushed back against the wheel well. I got three estimates on repairing the damage which ranged from $800 to almost $1400. Since Tom at Midas had helped me before, I decided to see if they could fix this car too for less. Took the car in and later that day they called to tell me the news ?ˆ“ the repair would cost at least $600 with a replacement suspension part costing almost half of the total. I didn?ˆ™t have that much money so I didn?ˆ™t think I could get it fixed. I asked Tom if I could buy the part somewhere else and then they would install it and he agreed to do so. Shopped for the part but no one had it in stock except the Chevy Dealers who wanted $282 for the part. Later that day, after telling Tom of my situation, he called me back and told me he found the part at OReilly?ˆ™s for $142. I bought the part at OReilly?ˆ™s and took it to Tom who had my car fixed using my supplied parts. Tom and this Midas shop saved me hundreds and helped us get back to a two car family again. I won?ˆ™t be taking my cars anywhere else from now on!!!

Honest, reliable service
I`ve been using Midas for maintenance on our family`s vehicles for a couple of years now. They are consistently dependable and honest.
Last week I brought my truck in for a rattling sound in the exhaust system. I was expecting to have to replace the catalytic converter, and the guy who signed in my vehicle at the counter agreed this was a likely cause of the noise. Turns out it was just a rusted weld on the cov... view moreer plate, which was a simple $35 fix. They could have gone ahead and replaced the cat. converter and I wouldn`t have suspected anything, but they were honest and acted in my best interest.
I`m very happy with their service and will keep using them until that changes.

Run-Around
I brought my 4runner in for a simple oil change. They finished it quickly and were very friendly.
I noticed an odd idle afterwards and the transmission started slipping. I took it back, explained the problem, and they gave me a runaround saying that they could have not caused those problems and that I should come back Monday to let their top ASE tech look at it (the same one who supposedly did the oil change). Ins... view moretead, I took the truck to my local Toyota dealer to check it out.
Midas accidentally drained my transmission fluid and overfilled my engine oil by 5 quarts! This caused a chain reaction of problems that resulted in a damaged headgasket, water pump, and transmission. Thank goodness the awesome folks at Toyota were able to repair most of the damages under warranty, but there are still $120 in damages that I had to pay out of pocket.
I returned to Midas and explained the issues. The same ""manager"" said ""I hate to seem like I`m running you out of the store, but you`ll have to talk to our store manager on Monday."" I asked why the run-around, but he simply kept avoiding the error and tied to run away from the issue.
We all make mistakes. I`m not angry at that issue. I`m angry that this ""trusted, certified, and experienced"" company is not willing to stand behind their work.
I`ll post a follow-up review on Monday. If they don`t settle this dispute, I`ll gladly see them in small claims court.

DO NOT GO HERE
We have a 2003 Mazda MPV with about 70,000 miles on it. The check engine light started coming on last January. We took it to Midas, and they told us the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. They charged us almost $300 for the part alone and $200 for labor. Not long after that, the check engine light came on AGAIN. We ended up replacing several different parts over several months, paying hundreds of dollars total... view more. And the check engine light STILL came back on. Finally we made a friend who is also an honest mechanic. He found that another oxygen sensor needed to be replaced (this is a common MPV problem), but it only cost him $50-60 for the part, compared to the $300 Midas charged! And we also took it to the dealership, where they found that the catalytic convertor also needed to be replaced (thankfully it happened to be under warranty). Finally, after more than a year, our check engine light is off and our car is fixed. I never thought I would say this, but we should`ve taken it to the dealership in the first place, because they were a lot more competent than Midas!
I have never written a review on a business before, but this one had to be written. I wish I had the guts to report them to the Better Business Bureau. They are dishonest and extremely incompetent.

An Old and Reliable Family Business
Getting someone reliable to repair your vehicle is not a fun experience to savor any day but when you go ask for Tom at Midas, he`s polite and will glady have his mechanic give you an opinion on your needed repair. The prices are competitve and the work is done right and if they don`t do right, they will make it right if need be. They live up to thier warranty. I had a muffler replaced on my 97 Toyota T-100 and they ... view moredid a great job finding me a replacement and installed it at what I considered a fair price. I was in and out quicker than I thought w/an appointment. So I`m thinking of going back for the future brake work I`ll need just because they were good and they ae close to where I live.
