Not A Happy Camper

As much as I hate to write a bad review, I completely feel like a bait-and-switch victim right now. I suppose it is indeed POSSIBLE that my husband and I INCORRECTLY heard the estimate during our initial conversation with Lambs, but it doesn`t seem very feasible. This is what I am certain of - when we showed up to pay the bill, the work was $100 more than the estimate we were expecting. I went in to get a clutch fixed. They fixed it in 48 hours and even came by to pick me up when it was done.

Typical Repair Shop Suckout

I went for a 4 wheel disc brake job on my 2002 Chrys Town and Country van, which I knew was due, but also knew that there was some pad left. They got it on the rrack, then came back at me with a $600.00 repair fee. He said that the fronts were wearing unevenly, so they needed to replace the brakes, rotors and calipers! This was something I could have done on my own but didn`t because I wanted to save my own time, so ... view moreI knew they were full of it. So I told em get it off the rrack and see ya. A week later I did the brakes myself, and lo and behold the calipers were fine, just needed the normal lube on the guide pins, the brake pads were barely different, which could account for a 200lb man sitting in the drivers seat every time the van was driven. The rotors were also fine (you can always have these resurfaced, I went ahead and replaced the fronts since the van was already up on jack stands). Total cost to me was my time and $120.00. If they would have been honest they would have had a repeat customer, instead I say stay away, far away. Go to Christian Brothers instead.

Excellent Service

I recently brought my wifes Camry in with an Engine warning light. We had them check to figure out what was causing this. They called back a few hours later while at work and informed us of the situation, which was emissions work. We were pretty sure this would be coming up soon as it`s an `00 model and this work is done near the mileage specified. The price quote for this was spot on with 2 other places I located.

We had the work done at this Lambs, they were complete before we were out of work and even delivered the car to our house for us, locking the keys in the car as we have a second set. This was excellent, I don`t have to stop off and pick up the car, it`s already waiting for us in the driveway.

They were courteous from entry to exit on the job, they had an equal price to competitors and come highly recommended.

After reading previous reviews, it seems as if they have corrected any shortcomings.

Very satisfied,great customer service

I have used the Lambs on Mays in Round Rock for years and as a single mother I am always on a budget and need my car to be in good shape and safe. The employees are always friendly and honest. They go out of their way to provide rides to and from work to make it convenient for me to leave my car. I trust them and they have always done a fantastic job -the work has been right and on time. lies, cheats and crooks-stereo typical mechanic...

I`ve taken my vehicles to Lamb`s for basic oil changes and tire rotations for years because simply because it`s the nearest mechanic to my house. Recently however, I asked them to perform slightly more complicated tasks-which to my disappointment, was too much for them to handle. First I took in my car for a tune up and a check on my fuel system-to improve my gas mileage. $500+ later, my car now shakes at stop ligh... view morets (something it didn`t do before) and my gas mileage is exactly the same-after they assured me there was a problem with it that had been corrected.

I then asked them to replace the bulbs on my fog light and both on my headlights. They didn`t stock either my fog light bulb or the headlights I wanted so I had to purchase them myself. They have a one-year/12,000 mile replacement policy that applies arbitrarily. TWO MONTHS after the bulbs had been replaced-two had burnt out. I`ve replaced bulbs before and they don`t burn out after two months unless you butcher the installation. When I asked them to replace them under their warranty period I was informed they wouldn`t do it unless I paid for new bulbs from them or bought new ones again.

I`ve also had price issues with them as other people have mentioned and the employees seem apathetic and almost annoyed when you ask for service. Stay away unless you have money to burn and perhaps a car you don`t want to function well and maybe a high tolerance for dishonesty and incompetency.

More from me because they have made NO attempt to contact me

It has been 3 days since THE INCIDENT and i`m finding more and more people have had horrible experiences with Lamb`s. One friend took his car in because it was shaking and Lamb`s quoted him $3000 for a new transmission. Not being a mechanic but actually having a brain he told Lamb`s to put the car back together so he could have it towed to someone else. Lamb`s who supposedly has a FREE estimate program tried to... view more charge him $65 to put everything back in place!! The guy actually tried to GUILT him into paying by saying his mechanic wouldn`t get paid if he didn`t pay (amazing!!!!!). Turns out the next place charged him $150 to replace a joint of some sort (UV?)....Nothing to do with a transmission.
AVOID LAMBS and you could pay for a nice vacation for you and the family!

Ask the price first---they don`t post them so you have to ask or they can charge anything

I took my full sized truck in to get a sythetic oil change. I was charged $78. I had made the mistake
of not asking how much it cost--but I had expected about $50 as I had had it done
a while back at another Lambs for that amount. When I told the guy that he asked if I had the receipt.
I didn`t. But a recent article on yahoo finance said a sythetic oil change should cost $50-$60 so I
