After taking my RV to the Eastern Sierras this Spring, it was time to get some serious work done on her. I asked around and got a recommendation for American Transmissions. Gave them a try, and I can only continue pass along good words and I strongly recommend them for all your RV repair needs!

Please take my $3,133.00 lesson and stay away from this place. The other reviewers are spot on in their description. I wish I would have seen the reviews. My check engine light is still on from the transmission codes. I had to take it to AutoZone to get all of the codes because they didn`t get them all when I took it back after it was "fixed." Horrible job. I had my vehicle checked by 3 other reputabl... view moree places, including the dealership and I was ripped off. My rebuild was nowhere close to costing me that much. Learn from my mistake. Go at your own risk.

They have been great to deal with and the repairs are quick and accurate, even with an oil change they are mindful of my time and get it done in a hurry.

I took my 2005 Maxima to a local Nissan dealer when it started shifting erratically and was told it could not be repaired. The service manager told me I needed a new transmission! ($4,000)
Wanting a second opinion, I took it to American Transmission.
After they did what they call a ?ˆ?multi-check?ˆ?, they replaced a sensor located near the flywheel and charged me $69.00!
My car immediately ran perfectly and stil... view morel does!
These guys are my heroes!

I recently developed a shifting problem with my ?ˆ™06 Lexus. Knowing little about transmissions or transmission repair facilities, I took my care to a shop near my office for the sake of convenience. American Transmission at the N.W. corner of I-35E & Valwood Parkway, proved to be the right place!
I dropped off my car on Tuesday morning for a free diagnostic service and received a call two hours later giving me ... view morea complete assessment of both my mechanical and electronic issues.
From beginning to end, the staff was courteous and professional and the end result was a timely, quality repair performed for $2,000 less than quoted from the Lexus dealer!
My time is valuable and my money is scarce! They saved me both! I highly recommend American Transmission for any auto repair you may need!

absolutely the worst
This was the absolute worst experience with a business that I ever had. This dirty unkept place charged me $1297.00 to repair my jeep trans. Anthony (SAM) told me when I came to pick it up that my vibration was not the trans but it was the driveshaft. So essentially he charged me 1297.00 dollars and did not fix anything at all. I had to return my jeep back to this place. He told when they went through it again t... view morehat the shift fork was worn out, but he could not find the part anywhere in the metrpplex. So, on my own time I found this part, paid for this part, and delivered this part. They attempted to repair my jeep again after I delivered them the part. I picked up my jeep and it seemed to be repaired. Everything was alright for about three weeks, and that vibration returned again. Anthony had to send my jeep to another shop because he (American Transmission) did not know how to fix the trans. He claimed the other shop could not find a problem with it. Anthony then tried to charge me for having to take my jeep elsewhere while the trans. was under warranty. For the fourth and final time on me returning to American Transmission he said that my trans. was fixed so I left with my jeep with the same problem and 1297.00 out of my pocket.

Very Pleased with there Sevice & Knowledge
I recently had car problems coming home from work on I35 & Beltline rd., having some what of mechanic experience I knew it was my transmission, I started to dial some local mechanics shops but every single one of them told me the same thing ""that it was late in the day & they were fixing to close"" Unil i called American Transmission and not only were they willing to take a look at my car late in the day but they al... view moreso sent over a tow truck to pick up my vehicle free of charge.
The following day after diagnosing my vehicle, the manager explained to me what the problem was in great detail, & recommended I replace various parts in order for me not to have problems in the future, the manager made me feel in control of giving me options and didnt feel pressured at all like some other places ive been to where they try to make me buy extra services that i might or might not need.
After i picked up my car i havent had a problem with it and honestly if i have read the previouse review i probably wouldnt of took my car there but the way things happened im glad they were there when i needed them & theres a reason there still in business after so many years!
