Reviews:
Earmark in Addison is somewhat outdated
So I`ve had a few car stereo installs done with this store and must say the quality of the install is good, which is most of what folks pay for. But it was somewhat of a painful experience in that the manager would not give much of any sort of a discount and seemed to care more about the price than anything else really. I always feel nickel and dimed at this specific store with their manager. I remember an install... view more that ended up with some sort of popping noise that they quickly suggested I buy something else to fix without taking the time to figure out if it was an install issue. This was probably due to the fact that they don`t charge for more labor from what they quote if it take a little longer...so I`m sure they didn`t want to spend anymore time digging around to see what the problem was.
In addition, I`ve worked with other car audio locations that unfortunately closed because they were smaller shop and the recession did them in but they were extremely eager in satisfying the customer. Earmark in Addison is not bad but it would be better if they had a different manager as I have even heard his own employees complaining about him. Overall, good install, crappy manager. Also, they only carry Focals, JLs and Boston speakers. Don`t bother asking them about Audison, Hertz, Morels, Rainbows..etc because again, their manager doesn`t keep up with the industry...proof is in the circa 1980s/`90s photos of their installs and competition.
I`m trying a new shop up in McKinney(SoundScape)that sells other brands and in the short time talking car audio, their enthusiasm and knowledge of current industry trends is refreshing. Also, they factor in sound tuning as part of the price and not another ancillary cost that you have to pay for. They apparently use an RTA for tuning so I`m excited to see how it goes.

Earmark is not in the habit of turning away work.
Earmark is not in the habit of turning away work. However, there are rare occasions when we must pass on any involvement for valid reasons.
Often the customer is insulted when we decline their job and this may result in unfounded criticism or the writing of an untrue review for an unkind motive.

Earmark does excellent work
Every time I`m in the Earmark Addison store it`s filled with Bentleys, Ferraris, BMWs and other expensive cars. I would image that the owners of these type of cars are very difficult to please. All of my cars have received excellent work at Earmark.

Poor Customer Service
I had taken my new car in person for an estimate and the sales person took 2 hours to provide a quote. However, the quote provided was not based on the component I wanted so I asked for a call back within the next week. The store manager Joe shook my hand and promised he`d research into the quote.
After waiting for a week for the call, I called to see what`s happening with the quote and appointment, and got ""... view morewe`ll call you back shortly."" I didn`t hear back until 4 days later, and this time the caller tells me ""we`ve removed you from the schedule.""
As a consumer, I`ve spent a lot of time waiting in the shop for the quote (which was incomplete), having being promised by the manager that there`d be a follow up call, and then having to call again myself to chase the follow up call, and to get called back 2 weeks later to be told that they don`t want to work on my car and removed me from the schedule completely. The transpired events warrants a customer service grade of POOR in my book.
This was going to be my second car to be done by Earmark, but I`ve taken my business to Alta Mere instead.

Do not go here
Do not trust these people with your car. They gave me terrible advice, and the work they did was horrible. It took me months to fix everything they messed up, and I am still finding new things wrong (random screws all over the car, trim not reattached properly, etc.). My stereo sounded so much worse after they were done with it, it was amazing. Go somewhere else.
