CAUTION !! A+ Transmission Specialists are specialists in LIES. These guys will LIE to sell you an overhaul. My transmission was fine, but its been 60,000 miles since an oil change. I only went in for a transmission oil change. Instead I paid $1550 for an overhaul I DID NOT NEED. How do I know that....? There is a magnet in the bottom of the pan. The manager swipes it with his finger and says there ar... view moree metal shavings and that I need an overhaul. These crooks convince me that my situation is so bad that they cannot even add new oil. New oil might cause more problems. They say they have to put old oil back. I bought into these fear tactics and agreed to an overhaul. That was Saturday. Sunday, I am on internet... and find that some metal grit in the magnet is OK... normal wear.... and NOT necessarily an indication of a problem...... very much dependent on size of particles. I am there first thing Monday to try to stop the overhaul. The transmission is already being disassembled. It will cost me $600 to put it back. I ask to see the pan....I swipe the goo on the magnet.... LO AND BEHOLD and... NO SHAVINGS in the goo....only a sludge with super fine BARELY DISTINGUISHABLE grit.. I finger swipe at all the disassembled parts, I CANNOT find significant particle shavings in the pools of oil... definitely not large...not even close to sand particle... an occasional grit of size like you might find in Comet or Ajax. I ask to compare my plates with new plates. My plates look almost new. He tried other lies telling me plates are burned. I talked to his mechanic about the plates... the mechanics exact words "little..little bit burned"... yeah ....just a little bit... but I got 125,000 miles and that transmission was working just fine. He tells me the pump needs replacing. I ask him to show me the failure... burns, loss of section...whatever. He reminds me he is the manager... he only goes with recommendations of the mechanic. He nor the mechanic could show me what was wrong with the pump. At this point, with my tran on the table, I have no choice but to pay up for a transmission to get a warranty. I keep telling this guy that I relied on his "metal shaving" comment when I made my decision. His only response... "we can`t keep going back to that." DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS. THEY LIARS. Oh... and don`t let that bible on his table fool you....nor all that talk to customers.....telling them...... "have a blessed day".... right.

The Go Too Transmission Shop! ...

The Go Too Transmission Shop! I had my 1994 Chevy P/U transmission repaired at A+ about a month ago. I did not want to write my review too soon, I needed to make sure that my repairs were going to last at least this long, and it has. The proscess was easy and almost painless. But the work was done right and in a timely manner. Thanks Guys!!!

Quick turnaround, great servic...

Quick turnaround, great service,good diagnostic! Repair was quoted at $550 and that`s what I paid - good communication throughout the process. Scott & Jim were cool, always gave the info I needed and I was able to pick up car as promised, when promised & work done professionally. They left car as clean as I gave it to them. THANK YOU!!!

My daughter`s Mustang had bad ...

My daughter`s Mustang had bad a transmission fluid leak and resulting break down at her school. Friends had used A+ Northpark in the past and highly recommended that business. I spoke with a man named Jim and he had the vehicle picked up and transported to the shop. Jim had much experience with Mustangs and was able to tell me what was needed in order to fix the transmission. When the repairs were finished, we ... view morewere picked up and driven to the shop. Long lasting repairs

My Dodge diesel was repaired at A+ Transmissions in Kingwood more than 5-years ago. I have logged more than 220,000 miles since and it works better than ever. Jim phoned me to remind me of the annual fluid change and I thought it would be nice to return the favor and share my experience of complete satisfaction with this company.

Dont be misled!! Worst place ever!!!!

Please people do not be misled by the 5 star reviews. This transmission shop is far from providing and 5 star service. I`ve submitted a report to the better business bureau because of how our repairs were handled and how we were taken advantage of. DO NOT GO HERE at any cost if you can!!

The place to go My Honda transmission stopped working I started to panic, calling different shops I was given appallingly high prices and instant guesses about what was wrong. Every one sounded the same! I saw A+ online and was reading about Jim Mullin. I phoned him and was mesmerized by his calm voice and professional phone mannerisms. By his listening to me and asking the right questions I began to trust his ju... view moredgement. A+ picked up the car and I received a courtesy call from Jim indicating the check out process had begun. The next morning he phoned with repair strategies (as he calls them) and we selected one that would provide a long warranty for my peace of mind. With the car back I was very happy with the quality of the work and best of all the customer service. GREAT CUSTUMER SERVICE

I RECENTLY TOOK MY 2005 FORD TAURUS THINKING I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. DAVID AND JIM WERE VERY EAGER TO HELP ME AND HAD MY CAR TESTED, THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM AND TO MY RELIEF I DID NOT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. Happy customer When it came time to have my transmission repaired in my Mustang I drove it (barely) to the Northpark location and had Jim look at the car. He was really savvy about Mustangs and helped me in creating a bullet-proof clutch, flywheel and transmission repair. Now the "stang" fly`s and can keep up with all the bolt-on go-fast goodies on the engine. Even if your car is a grocery-getter expe... view morect the best at A+.
