I ask myself everyday what a big mistake I have done taking my car to Moritz BMW body shop, because the damage they have done is irreplaceable. My car was side swiped at a very low speed, passenger door had few scratches and the quarter panel had deep scratches. after researching on the BMW USA website they recommended to use BMW certified body shop. I searched and Moritz was one of them. Contacted my insurance and M... view moreoritz Body shop was also one of their preferred shops so I was all glad that I am taking my car to a place recommended by BMW USA so things wont go wrong. This is so terrible that I dont have words to explain. I took my car to their body shop they inspected it and told me that this should be done quickly, does not seem like a big damage. Anyways couple of days later I called them to check the status and they told me that they will have to replace the door and the quarter panel since the expert looked at it and he advised that they will not be able to get good results if they try to repair the door and the panel, so the only option is replacing it. After that I never got a single followup call or an email from the advisor. Almost 5 weeks later they had the car ready. When I inspected the car I found paint particles on the hood and the trunk. I asked why is the surface so rough, he had no answer. Anyways I started to inspect the door and the quarter panel, I opened the door and I noticed the side of the door had rough paint, looked like someone started the job and left it in the middle, uneven paint, rough, spray markings. I opened the trunk where they join the quarter panel and the body, and there where my heart sank, I cannot believe what I saw Un finished Welding marks all over, paint marking all over, dust particles visible on the paint, OMG this cant be my car, what is this. The service manager got really conscious and started to write down the findings and promised that they will fix all this in couple of days, including buffing the car to get rid of paint particles, will paint the inside of the door, and further grind the welding marks and match it with the factory markings as close a possible. 3 days later for the first time I got a call from them letting me know that I can come inspect the car and make sure its done correctly, and as a courtesy they promised to discount me $100 from my deductible and asked me to give them 10/10 in their customer service survey and mention that I should put that I am completely satisfied because anything else is a fail score. Anyways I inspected the car, they buffed the trunk, re painted the door and tried to fix the welding marks as much they could but not even close to the factory look, not even close to a job done by a professional, this was a bad job, poor job. The reason for me taking the car to a certified body shop was to get the job that mimics factory like work, so I can sustain the value of my car. This shop was on BMW USA website where could I go wrong. I will be sending this review to BMW of USA, Moritz need some serious improvements, at least they need to take down Moritz Body shop from BMW USA website as they are damaging the reputation of a world class brand., they need to provide intensive training to their service advisor on followup and train their mechanics on testing cross linked parts. Honestly the door noise caused by missing parts in the door, their poor service and mechanics, taking weeks to fix service warranty issues, I always let it go, but the pain of seeing my beautiful car ruined by their body shop is heart breaking. Nothing is good about this place, stay away.
