DO NOT SHOP HERE!
My husband and I shopped around for a canopy for our new Toyota Tacoma (less then 1,000 miles on it) and since Trails End was the only LEER dealer we decided to order the top of the line one with several accessories. We should have known better when we inquired about the remote lock/unlock and their response was the opposite of what the LEER pamphlet stated; but we felt "stuck" with them... view more being the only dealer of LEER in the area. After ordering, two weeks later we had it installed and paid the balance. Since my husband was in school, I picked it up. I felt it was odd that they just charged me the balance and handed me the keys with out showing me the accessories or anything. When I got home I realized the canopy window had come open and I was unable to close it. My husband got home and found the following:
1. They had gouged 4 places on the truck rail and bed
2. The rack system (LEER drills into the top of the canopy) was not parallel (making it useless)
3. Parts of the shell were not cut properly to allow proper fit (this caused the damage during installation)
The next business day I contacted Tyreil about these issues and they removed the canopy to have LEER decide on the next steps. After removing the canopy Tyreil said he saw the damage the installation did to the truck.
In the 4 months of contacting Trails End and LEER to get my truck repaired ($1000 in damage); i was given the run around between the two companies, had to get three bids, and all for a canopy we paid full price for (that we had on our truck for less then 24 hours) that was sent back to LEER for "warranty issues" three times.
In the end we were FINALLY able to pay the $75 for the installation (to Trails End....who DID the damage, but didn`t say anything) and LEER agreed to take back the canopy and credit us for the prices we paid.
This is a HUGE warning to anyone out there. I always want to know, if there is an issue, will the dealer fix it? In my situation NO! Lucky for us, LEER stepped up and ate all the costs.
