I have been in the customer service industry since the age of 14 when I began working in my Dad`s upholstery business. I greeted and entertained customers while picking up and delivering furniture to the customer`s homes. Throughout the rest of my school years, I continued working in the family businesses. I also started fixing the company vehicles at this age. In 1979 I joined the United States Navy Submarine Force and defended my country for 20 years receiving 5 ribbons and 13 medals to include 5 Navy Achievement medals and 1 Navy Commendation medal for going above and beyond the call of duty. I retired in 1999 and started working in the Auto Repair field and I was approached by the local career school to teach the Auto shop class. After moving to Texas in 2000, I continued my passion for fixing cars. My success led to my wife, Sharon, and I starting our own store in 2007. David`s Automotive Repair is a complete auto care facility that is locally owned and operated by the Nix family. We do all types of automotive repairs. We have a continuous technician education program that enables us to continue our employee training and updating of equipment. We have a 3 year / 36k mile limited warranty. Our waiting area not only has coffee, WiFi and leather chairs but also has a childrens play area. We have a customer shuttle available. We recycle our used oil and antifreeze.

By taking care of people`s cars and educating them so they can make informed decisions about what their car needs in order to keep it safe and reliable. We also realize that coming to us is like going to the dentist; you really do not want to have the work done, but it is necessary for your health.

I do most of my own vehicle maintenance, but I didn`t have the time or tools to replace the brakes and rotors on my truck. I called David`s Automotive and they were able to take it in the next day and do the replacement. While working on the truck, Johnny called to let me know the progress and when it would be finished - which was later that day. I`ve had front suspension issues for over a year now. I`ve taken my 2005 GTO to several different places and purchased several apparently unneeded parts to resolve these issues. Chris said "I personally pulled and prodded on everything up front.". That almost, no joke, gave me chills. My dad always said that if something is worth doing then its worth doing right. They finally found the upper strut mounts were built in the wrong order by a previous garage. He rebuilt them and called me to tell me he wasn`t going to charge me for the work. Not only did he find the solution but he was gonna do it pro bono? Wow. Awesome. I wound up making him charge me something. There car has never driven better. Thanks guys.

These guys took good care of me! As a woman; I do not like going to auto repair shops because I feel like I am being taken advantage of. Not here; the shop manager took the time to explain what was needed and helped me to understand why. I will be going back when I need service on my Jeep!

Avoid this company - even if it is an emergency. I took my vehicle to Davids after my transmission started to slip. I communicated with them when I dropped off my vehicle that it was slipping from 2nd to 3rd, and would most likely need to be rebuilt. I was just looking for an estimate, as I had never visited this company before. I received a call four hours later with a rebuild estimate of $2500.00. Knowing that ... view morethis was outrageous for this service, I went to pick my vehicle up and take it to another shop. Davids then proceeded to charge me $95.00 for a diagnostic on my transmission before they would give me my keys back. When asked to produce paperwork to show what they did to earn $95.00 - they gave me a sheet that said transmission was slipping from 2nd to 3rd and would need to be rebuilt. Wow - who knew I would pay $95.00 for my own words. Eagle Transmission in Lewisville completed the repair, including hard parts for less than $1600.00. Eagle Transmission did a great job. Take your vehicle there instead.

I am absolutely compelled to write this review..... Called David`s Automotive Repair yesterday as my vehicle was in the midst of dying, they were very helpful on the phone and agreed that what I was experiencing was possible the fuel pump and would get me in right away. So I drove directly there and dropped the car off, again very helpful and they would call with a quote shortly. They gave me a ride to work which was... view more nice. They called back with a price and said they could get it done today; well I nearly choked as this is a lot of money. So I called around and found that they where competitive with other shops and I understand a markup on parts and all businesses have to make money but when I did the math this was an honest deal. When I told them that the price was for the amount of work to be done was about right, they told about there warranty and I could not believe that they have a better warranty then the dealer. The fact that you can get the work done and have a better warranty then the dealer is just out of this world. I brought them a self assessed problem and they check my vehicle out completely and gave there assessment of the work that needed to be done and any other issues that could be taken care of at a latter date gave me a sense of that they really care about there customers. I would recommend this shop to my mother and everyone else. In this day an age it is hard to find a good reputable place to bring my vehicles. The icing on the cake was that they picked me up when the work was done, greeted me with a smile, answered all my questions and even said Thank You. Just really good customer service.

These folks are just the best ...

These folks are just the best of the best. They tell you the truth, they don t try to sell you anything you don t need, and they stand behind their work 100%. There are just not that many mechanics I trust anymore...these folks are the exception to the rule. They re not only good mechanics, they re good people. I really like the fact I can go in and know that my car will be repaired and not worry if the work has been... view more completed or not. One time, not too long ago, I spent over $400 dollars at another repair shop for a window motor and the motor was not replaced. I have not had that issue with David s Automotive. There is no dishonesty there. Just the work that actually needs to be done on the vehicle. i have been bringing my cars to these guys for many years. i keep my vehicles for a long time. my overall repair bills are much smaller than my friends that go to their dealerships. i can always count on their recommendations and have never had unnecessary repairs proposed to me. Best Automotive Shop In North Dallas!! The icing on the cake was that picked me up when the car was done. I have to say that I am very pleased with every aspect of this company. The service I got from the front counter was excellent along with the owner of the company greeting me upon arrival by name. It felt like they really cared about me and my needs. They actually took the time to build a relationship with me, unlike most shops. The waiting room is filled with community involvement and they even have a water fall. They had a technician thoroughly look over my car for a few maintenance items that I requested be done as well as for their detailed inspection. He also found a few safety issues that needed attention as well with my car that I wasn`t aware of. They gave me prices and told me what work would be done with my approval and even asked if they could keep my car overnight. I said that was okay and they offered to give me a ride to my house free of charge and even offered to pick me up the next day when they were finished. (Rare quality to find in a company) When they picked me up the following day I had a pleasant ride with the shuttle driver and I was greeted yet again with a smile from the staff and a clean and organized waiting room. I have to say you guys are the best in the business and my car runs better than ever. David is a 20 year Highly decorated retired Vet of the Submarine Force with medals for going above and beyond the call of duty. David`s Automotive Repair goes above and beyond to make sure your car is fixed right. Thanks so much!!

Great repair shop, decent pricing

Went to David`s Automotive because a friend recommended them. I took my vehicle there for an oil change and they told me I needed rear brakes at 40,000 miles. I`m thinking ""ok whatever just another shop trying to make a buck."" They took me out to the shop and showed me the rear brake pads were almost completely worn down!! Awesome Auto Repair Shop

I have taken my vehicles to David`s Automotive for several years now. I believe that he and his employees are honest and fair. They will work with you and for you depending on what you need to have done. The customer service manager is very courteous and you are always greeted immediately when you walk in the door. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs auto repairs.
