First off I would like to state that I am normally very skeptical about auto shops and internet reviews, but this case is the exception. I ran into this auto shop as it was the closest place from where my car randomly broke down in a city I knew nothing about and I couldn`t of asked for anything better. Excellent service and hospitality

This is the only place I will ever take my vehicles!!
I have never trusted anyone as much as I trust Schumann`s Auto repair!!
Paul, the owner, is just down right honest and does not look to overcharge his customers. He lets you know what you need and don`t need. I have recommended everyone I know to Paul and will continue to do so.

my name is paul schneider and i am the owner of schumann auto repair. i would like to give my side of this story. this customer brought in a ford escape that the engine was damaged by lack of maintaince. the customer started dissassembly of this vehicle then deceided he did not have the skills to finish the job. he wanted to supply his own used engine which i agreed to. the quote i gave him was to replace a complete... view more engine with all accessories. a 3 day turn around was never discussed nor promised. the engine supplied was not exactly the same engine that was in the vehicle. which involved more labor to change over the necessary parts.this was explained to the customer. this customer was already very difficult to work with before the engine was even running and that is the reason that i wanted cash payment. there were some bolts missing when the customer delivered the project to me and we replaced them with spare bolts from the shop, there was a bolt missing when the customer picked his vehicle.the vehicle was pulled in the shop after the missing bolt was found and inspected by myself, the engine was properly mounted. the bolt was replaced and the mechanic reprimanded. this was a difficult situation and i am sorry the customer feels this way. the job took much more time than i charged the customer due to his partial disassembly and the replacement engine being different . Great service. Good with hard to figure out problems.

This is the only shop that I have been to that did not try to hard sell me a bunch of work that I did not need. Very honest. He not only explains what is wrong, but he actually shows you. Great service and very knowledgeable about cars. I take my fleet vehicles as well as my personal cars to this shop. Highly recommended.

FIND ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP, FAST!

I will NEVER take my car or refer my worst enemy to this place! My calls were never returned, I was overcharged for 5 hours of work, which is $80hr after tax. What should have been a 3 day repair was 10 days. When I finally picked my car up, the owner asked for cash ONLY?!
He also had to find bolts in the shop to replace ones that were `missing` from my engine, and there are still parts without bolts. When someth... view moreing was pointed out to him, he said `Oh that was already like that`. When we got home, there were so many parts broken that they did not even do any work on!
The engine was not even mounted on the car body properly, that is very dangerous, especially with kids in the car! We are still finding things wrong, and it makes me sick to know I paid this place anything at all!
