Women beware! Travelers beware!

Was there Monday trying to get brake pads replaced; kept me waiting for several hours, when I asked what the holdup was, they pulled the car into the garage, raised the hood, put it up on a lift and pulled both backtires off. And that was it for another couple hours. Finally, at 3:23, I reminded the manager (again) that I had a 9 hour drive to get home and would like to make it sometime that day, and he said they wer... view moree ""waiting for a part"". WTH? It`s a tire and brake shop and they don`t have brake pads? ""Oh no,it needs another part."" He then finally produces an estimate with the following charges: Rear disc brake pads 71.24 Rear Rotors 2 @ 78.45 each Rear brake install 129.00 Brake fluid exchange 80.49 Brake fluid (because it wasn`t included in the exchange price) 9.50 Rear brake calipers 2 @ 124.87 each and Labor *8 hours* at 9.90 (total amount of time actually spent doing a damn thing to the car; 5 minutes) total estimate; Shop fees: 35.00 and taxes 49.73 for a grand total of $861.79. I was polite, but firm. NO, Absolutely NO. You put the wheels back on it, let it down and pull it out of there. Store manager John Tanberg, sensing perhaps that his unbridled greed is about to cost them some easy money: ""Oh, you can`t drive it like that..."" Me, still polite but firm: ""I most certainly can drive it; Put the wheels on it and get it out of that shop NOW"" Drove it back to Texas City, and when Honey Lamb got off work he replaced the ONE SET of right rear brake pads that needed fixing in less than 30 minutes and for under $25.00, tax included.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

TOTAL BUNCH OF IDIOTS! Too busy talking on their cell phones, showing of their gross piercings and tattoos, and texting their friends to work on cars. They are so slow, your tires will dry-rot before you get your car back! Promised me that if I made an appointment, they would put my car in the first open bay after the appointment time. That was a total lie! When I protested this, they laughed and handed me the M... view moreanager`s business card. The Manager, Clint Baker, has facial piercings and looks like something out of a ""B"" horror movie. No professionals to be found here. Avoid this place and their low class and inept help!
