SCUMMY DIRTBAGS !!!! We drove 4 hours one way to look at and purchase a car that ERIC said was in excellent condition. He said his mechanic looked it over & it was sound. He said the mechanic replaced a 02 sensor & catalytic converter to get the check engine light to go out so it would pass inspection. He also went on to say everything on the car worked & he checked the paint with some device used to ... view moretell how thick it was to tell if it had any paint and or body work done to it & of course he said it did not. He said also he would stand behind the power train on this & any other car purchased from him for three months or 3000 miles. We test drove the car & it ran fine with no issues, looked it over & inside & out, it seemed decent with only some minor issues (dome lights,power door locks not working, some exterior bulbs not working, seemed strange since Eric said everything worked..) we decided we would deal with these on our own & just take the car. On the way home the check engine light came on & stayed on, when we looked over the car at home in the shop it was obvious nothing was done mechanically to the car, no 02 sensor or converter had been replaced (did his mechanic lie to him about doing this or did ERIC lie to us???) Also upon further detailed inspection under the shop lighting, we could see the whole front end of this car has been repainted. (Hmmm, more lies??) Anyway, to get the check engine light to go out we replaced the MAF sensor, & also replaced the cracked intake manifold. We did the work ourselves because we would not trust his mechanic as far as we could throw him !!! As soon as we saw the car needed work before starting any repairs we tried to contact ERIC NUMEROUS TIMES but he was always OUT OF THE OFFICE. Each person (Brian , Robert & Mike) that works there lied to us & said ERIC would call us to discuss this issue. It has now been over one month and ERIC has never called us & we assume he NEVER WILL. He got our $$$$$ and that was all that mattered !!! I am sure this guy thinks he is a fat cat & laughs all the way to the bank over people`s heartache... but KARMA IS A BIT_ _. PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS & keep away from this place! You do not want to do any business HERE !! WE HAVE NEVER DONE BUISINESS WITH ANY PLACE AS SHADY AS THIS ONE !! If we can save anyone from being screwed over by these low down snakes it will give us some happiness.

When 9/12/12. I drove 5 hrs to this place after talking to Erik Miller on phone and telling me that the 06 Mercedes he had listed on autotrader was solid and very good shape. When I got there, car upon turning it on had a LOUD WHINE and gears were GRINGING BAD!! they knew this prior to me coming in and wanted to play it off as it was nothing. I drove 5hrs, wasted 2 days and spent 200 dollars for gas and had to get ho... view moretel for the night. The car was being sold to me for 11,100. No chump change. They wanted to find a sucker to sell it to but they didn`t count on me being a mechanic. They also tried to scam me by saying that they would throw in a free warranty and that any problems would be fixed by that warranty. ANYONE should know that warranties DO NOT cover pre-existing conditions. They knew this also and wanted me to fall for it. These people are really really really shady, especially the lot manager BRIAN. If Erik reads this and he is completely shocked, then fire BRIAN for slowly sinking your business. If you knew about this Erik, your business should be shut down. I hope this review helps others NOT TO GO to BENCHMARK in La Porte, Texas. I hope you guys lose business over this review and the other guy who flew in to come see you guys about his van on previous post. BEWARE EVERYONE!!!!

STAY AWAY! Worst Dealer ever! ...

STAY AWAY! Worst Dealer ever! Flew in to pick up a van -was told the AC was cold it was not. Then made it 15 miles and the transmission failed - The owner Eric Miller has not returned any of my phone calls... would you buy from this dealer? I hope Benchmark reads this and realizes they could have done the right thing, but chose to ignore me instead.. this will cost you money - beware customers!!
