Going the extra mile
I contacted Ed who was very helpful in finding a solution to a difficult problem. I needed a back glass for an old car, no new ones could be found in the country, and most places were unwilling to ship. Ed encounter a problem with the shipping company , who some how lost the window. He found another yard who had it and had it shipped to my installer. Nicest Guys around.....
I have bought many cars off Ed & Larry. They are two of the nicest guys you could do business with. The last thing they are trying to do is take someones money. If anything they give their`s away. I have ended up on their door stop with little to no money and no car. I have never been turned away nor have the tried to take advantage of me or my husband. It is hard to find people today that a hand shake means something. When they have shook my hand it ment something. There word. They have always kept there word. They care more about helping people then taking there money. I am sorry you two had a bad experience with SSAP. Sounds like you were Ed was working with a middle man. Ed is a good man. Absolutely Horrible
I spoke with Ed from Southside Auto Parts and asked him for a 2 piece drive shaft for an 84 Toyota pickup. I confirmed with him over the phone that I needed both pieces of the rear driveshaft to include the center support bearing(CSB). He told me that since I needed the CSB as well it would cost more. The total came to $235. The amount was withdrawn from my account on 2/25/08. I received the Driveshaft on 3/3/08 but ... view moreit was a one piece driveshaft off a different truck with no CSB. I called Ed to see what was going on and he remembered me asking for a two piece drive shaft with the CSB and he said he would have to get with ?the guys? and find out why they had sent me the wrong one. The package was shipped from Virginia although Southside Auto is located in San Antonio so I assume that was the ?guys? he was talking about. Over the next couple weeks I called him several times (6-7) to find out what the status was with getting the right driveshaft. Each time I received the same response about Ed not being able to get a hold of them or not having enough time to get to it. I found a driveshaft in Tucson and called Ed and asked him if I could send him back the driveshaft. He said that would be fine just to send it back to the address on the package and once they receive it he will issue me a refund. I sent the package back on 3/14/08 via express mail. I kept checking my account but no refund had been issued. On 3/27/08 I called Ed to see why no refund had been issued. He said he would get in touch with ?them over there? and see if they have received it. I called almost every single day, usually twice a day. Once in the morning for Ed to tell me he will try to get to it, and once in the afternoon just to have Ed tell me he didn?t have time to get to it. It`s obvious that he has no intention of paying me back. Apparantly something similar happend to the guy that posted below me. It makes me sick that businesses can do this.

From the first phone call, I had a nagging feeling Ed at South Side Auto Parts was a con man. My intuition proved correct. I received broken parts that were terribly misrepresented. When I tried to return the parts, Ed accepted the parts but would not refund my money. He is obviously a liar and a very bad character. If you value your money, and who doesn`t, then avoid South Side Auto Parts in San Antonio and take your business to any one of a thousand other places.
