Not worth the coupon!
I usually take my 2010 Toyota Highlander to the dealer for service but I found a $20 Groupon for an oil change and tire rotation. I scheduled my service for Sept 28, 2011 at 11:00 am. I arrived about 5 minutes early and was told that it would take a little over an hour to complete. The waiting area was filthy and I felt uncomfortable even sitting the chairs (I

Midas Auto Repair Center on Lebanon Road
I went the Midas shop on Lebanon Rd based on a very positive experience by my son-in-law.
Ted, the manager, discussed the cost of removing and replacing the cooling fan clutch on my
2002 Trailblazer. I had called 3 of the Chevy dealers in town and was told the labor alone would be around
$400.00 plus shop supplies. Ted quoted $250.00 to me and so I took it there to be done.
On arrival, they took the T... view morerailblazer right on into the work area and and began the process. The technicians
kept me informed as to what they found and allowed me to watch some the work accompanied by another
employee.
They obviously were experienced and knowledgeable. The ""book"" calls for 3 hours labor as you
must basically disassemble the grill and hood just to get to the cooling fan/water pump area on
the front of the engine. It took them(2) techs about 2`45"" of constant work to get the old clutch off and the new one in place. They were very careful as they worked to avoid breaking off the plastic fasteners that held the grill in place.
After the work was finished, the total bill was $273.00, 242.00 in labor, 15.00 in taxes, and the rest
in shop supplies.
Before I retired in 2004, I had worked as a mechanic in Hertz truck shop in NC in the early part
of my career. I am not physically able to do things like this any more, so I was pleased beyond my
expectations with the work done and the cost, which is very important to a senior citizen(like me) on
a fixed income.
I would recommend this shop to anyone without reservation. This can`t be said of some of other
Midas shops in Nashville.
Keep up the good work, Ted and guys!
