THIS IS THE LAST PLACE ON EART...
THIS IS THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH TO EVER TAKE ANY TRANSMISSION.
I paid over $2600 to have an automatic transmission repaired. It worked for a little over a year, just past the warranty period. Then, in order to have a car for my work, I was forced to pay another $1300 to have it repaired again- only to have it fail in a few days. Then, Budget Transmissions (on Northshore Drive Knoxville, TN) DENIED there was a prob... view morelem. Even confronted with photos of red fluid on the ground spewing out of my overheated transmission, they had the nerve to imply I was lying. They said the burnt red fluid in the photo wasnt transmission fluid. Right- the red fluid I and other witnesses saw spew from the tranny case wasnt transmission fluid? The owner and head mechanic were extremely rude and tried to pass blame for their awful work onto other parts (which were replaced and still did not fix the problem) or my oil being too low (I did have an oil leak but it was minimal). Also, the oil leaked from the rear main seal- which should have been replaced the first time they repaired the transmission. They continued to be belligerent and pass blame- meanwhile I had no car (necessary for me to work). On one visit, they offered to put my car up on the "big lift" in order to check it out again. It stayed there for days with no work done. After getting it "fixed" and driving it an hour, the transmission overheated for a fourth time. Upon returning to the shop, the owner responded by asking "Do you want me to put it up on the big lift again?" After the 5th time they "fixed" it, I sold the car. By this time, I had spend over half of the cars value on their transmission "repairs".
Budget Transmissions on Northshore Drive gave me the worst experience Ive ever had dealing with any business. Take your transmission ANYWHERE but here. I have no idea how the owner of this shop sleeps at night or is able to look at himself in the mirror.

Stay away
Don`t go here. You will be wasting your time and money. These guys charged me 300 dollars just to tell me it was going to cost me $2500. They were nice until I told them that I was not going to do it. Then they were very rude and pushy and told me to get my car out of their lot. Had it repair somewhere else for $750. Wasted $300 on them. What a bunch of crooks.

""Not"" Bad, ""Not"" Bad At All!
I had my transmission rebult with this shop, an AL4D, not the best transmission, but these guys were able to build so far very reliable transmission. The price was very far, they had to take parts from another transmisson to use in mine, other shops did not have the hard parts I needed to rebuild mine. I was very happy with the time it took, they had it done within a couple of days. I can not say if this shop is ... view morethe cheapest as far as price, but I feel a got a fair deal. I will use this company again when I need this type of work.

Liar Liar
Don`t go here unless you want to be RIPPED OFF ! They kept my car for a week, charged me two thousand dollars, and when I got it back it was still messed up. They refused to honor their warranty. They tried to say it was "an engine problem". What a lie. When I took it to Transmission Corporation of America they said the transmission had never even been removed. They fixed it for a very reaso... view morenable price and I got it back the next day! Thank goodness I found someone I can trust.
