Rip Off Warning & Follow-Up

My check engine light came on during rush hour traffic. Naturally I wanted to get it to a mechanic ASAP. Unfortunately, I went to a mechanic that really stuck it to me. I told the guy at the counter to just make sure my car was ok to drive home. 2 Hrs later I was forced to pay $90 something for a gas cap. They did not advise me on any charges till they had already done the work. They scanned the computer, which is cl... view moreose to the exact same thing AutoZone will do for FREE! After I addressed the issue with the owner, he was rude and blamed me for bringing my car to him. He`s correct! I never should have taken my car there, nor will I again. Follow Up: 2-3Hrs after posting my review the owner calls me with a 100% different attitude. He offered an olive branch. A free $45 car care/oil change. BUT during this ordeal he made it abundantly clear to me that his mechanics are commission, which was his reason for offering no concession on the gas cap ordeal. So...Do I really want a commissioned mechanic under the hood of my car? I think not. I want one that cares about my car and not want driven by sales. I want one driven to help me.

Local Owned - Great Place for Repairs

It can be a frighten moment when your car is not working like it should be and needs service. Today it seems like almost any place you take your car for simple things such as an oil change or replacement tires, you know within a few moments the service manager is going to come out and say the dreaded words.....excuse me...can you come with me....I have found several things wrong with your car that must be fixed....I... view more wouldn`t trust driving your car the way it is. You are at the mercy of the place that is servicing your car. You agree to have all the repairs done as you were told your car will not make it down the road another mile only to find out later many of the repairs was not needed at that time or maybe the repairs didn`t even get done, but you paid for them. Today with money being tight it easy for many repair service centers to take advantage of the customer and charge for repairs that were not necessary. Many people are now keeping their older cars and finding that repairs will be needed as the car gets older, but also the car will have minor issues that for the moment would not need to be repaired such as minor leaks and noise due to the car age. Thats where you need to find a service center that you know will be honest with you and do excelent work at the same time. This is what I have found with the people at Ultimate tire car care. You know that the service being provided to you and your car will be the best. Recently I took my car into Ultimate to have the air-condition service and to have the tires replace. I advise them that I was going to be using the car out of town for a few weeks and wanted to be sure the car would not give me any issues while on my trip. The air-condition was repaired and has worked perfectly ever since. They went over the car, found a minor oil leak, which at the moment is not needed to be fixed as it is very small as was advise just to keep a watch on it where other places most likely would have advise to have the leak repaired at a major repair cost, but hey its an older car and most older cars have some type of leak that doesn`t create any kind of safety issue. They replace the tires, which I have to say, at a very competive price, which also resolve some issues I had with vibration up toward the front of the car. They advise that by looking at my front tires, that repalcing the tires would resolved the issue and it was about time for the tires to be replace. I feel that any other place might have advise additoinal worked would have been needed to solve the vibration issue before they even mention the tires being the problem which would have been money wasted for repairs not needed. Just sitting in the waiting room you can tell by other customers that come in, that they have build a great reputation of repeat customers for all their car repairs. I myself found out about this place from another family member that has been so happy with the service he gets at Ultimate. So much, is he happy with their work, that his car broke down while out of town and he paid to have his car towed back to Ultimate to have the repairs done to his car. This way he knew the repairs would be done right! All I can say...give them a try and I am sure you will not look anywhere else. By the way.....the car has preformed great after having it service by Ultimate and made my trip out of town very enjoyable knowing that they had done a careful check of my car. Thanks to all there at Ultimate for making our family vacation enjoyable and I myself the driver, not having to worry about any issues with the car while out of town. A+ place where the repairs are done right the first time!
