Best Service EVER!
Last week my car left me stranded on the side of the road with a blowout. I googled the nearest tire shop from my cell, and it was a Firestone. Even though I have heard dozens of bad stories about them and have had less-than-impressive service from them before, I called just because they were the closest. The sales agent said they`d do their best to get me in, but they were really busy and he couldn`t promise me anyt... view morehing. Instead of going there, I called the next place on my list, Best One Tire. They were only a few more blocks down the road from me, so I called, told them the situation, and I am SO glad I made that second phone call!
Ken is the manager there, and when I told him I was just down the street, he sent a shuttle van to come pick me up! They called a tow truck for me to come get my vehicle and already I was impressed. As I was waiting back at their store, Ken and I got to know eachother a bit. They had coffee for me, and popcorn. It felt less and less like a crisis the longer I was there. As I was talking to Ken, I noticed a display on the counter with some orange metal valve stem caps in it. I asked what they were all about and Ken told me that they had partnered with a local charity, Hands On Nashville, to give profits from the sale of these caps to the community. Have you ever heard of such a thing? A tire store that gives to charity?? I always thought tire stores were a bunch of swindlers, but these guys actually give money to their community. I was blown away!
A little while later, my car shows up at the shop and the tire is destroyed. Ken then breaks the news to me that I actually need 4 tires, NOT what I wanted to hear! Then he does something that no one has ever done for me at a service place before- he takes me into the shop and shows me so I can see it for myself! My other front tire had wires showing and my two rear tires were really thin. I didn`t even know! All this time I thought my tires were just fine.
Long story short, Ken treated me very well. These guys know what service really means! I ended up getting the 4 tires, an alignment, and I bought a set of those valve stem caps (only 5$) to give to charity. What a great experience! They also give you 4 free oil changes when you get 4 tires, so I`ll be back for ALL my service and maintenance from now on. Thanks to Ken and Best One for restoring my faith in tire shops!
