Ron Watson Dream Cars USA in A...

********Update to my first review on August 29 2012.********* Currently involved in litigation against Ron Watson....car was said to be restored and is in no way remotely close to that condition. Day 1 of receipt the transmission did not have 2nd gear and leaks excessively along with all of the other fluids minus the coolant. The suspension and brakes are shot and unable to safely idle or stop the car on a flat ... view moreroad. The engine and drivetrain need a lot of work as well. I had it inspected by a reputable restorer and it`s $30k from being the condition advertised by Ron Watson. I`m very mechanically inclined and I can fix everything on this car but I didn`t drop $20k just so I could restore someone`s half assed project that probably came from a salvage yard. He may have a good car or two, but the one he misrepresented to me was a mess. No accurate description despite my repeated itemized questions = he knew he`d never sell it for near the price if it was viewed in person ! When delivered I noticed the passenger`s seat had a undisclosed 3inch rip, the doors and rear quarters were badly/poorly bondoed and had bubbles...car ran hot, so now I`ve had the doors/quarters rewor... view moreked,painted $$ ,seat replaced, radiator replaced with 2row, next is resealing the windshield which leaks horribly, and unfortunately about a dozen other problems that were glazed over/ not reported...he claimed he drove it 25miles, if so, he knew it ran hot, claimed no visible sign of wreck repairs/rust = not honest !! buy in person only, do not believe this Baptist family man at anything he says- could be expensive ,exhausting and very disappointing, I know 1st hand ! 2500 so far, probably 800 to go :/ Reply to cconusa: very glad you got what you expected ! I too ASSumed by the great (?) ebay rating I was safe....my case ? very very off in description and is/has been very costly to correct the issues I`ve listed....I needed to point out that he didn`t tell the true condition in many areas of this car - read my post again- and it`s been a $2500+ costly headache and a lot of time and my labor to get it near HIS description of condition....I totally trusted the pics and his verbal and written condition comments and I`ve been busy for almost two months getting it respectable and drivable ( overheating..$400 radiator., had a 1 row for a 6 banger!.) should have seen me at the car wash soaking up water running all over the dash from the windshield leaking ! not good ! so, as you, I felt compelled to write my true experience with Ron and Son.....glad you only had a few issues ! I felt compelled to write this review after reading the two negative ones that others have posted about Ron Watson and his business, Dream Cars USA. I have to admit that even though Ron has nothing but positive reviews on eBay (where I purchased my 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible), I was a little concerned after reading the negative reviews posted here. Nevertheless, I bought the car without physically inspecting... view more it, and put my faith in Ron`s word, and the numerous photos that he had provided to me. The car arrived last week, and I am pleased to say that it was exactly as Ron described. While it did need a few minor repairs upon arrival (new wheel cylinders, a new fuel line, etc), that was expected. Bottom line is that I could not be happier with my purchase.
