HORRIBLE COMPANY

Our insurance cOmpany recommended Fender Mender to us after we were in a car accident with our 2011 vehicle. After having our vehicle for 1 week they called stating it was ready to be picked up. Needless to say they did a horrible job and tried to pawn it off acting like they had done a stellar job. WRONG! Do not go there! Stay away! These negative reviews are correct. I have had two vehicles there and neither were repaired correctly. I have had to do my own work and spend my own money elsewhere after the cars were returned to me! One was a structural issue and the other a mechanical issue which was dangerous! I will never return there and would tell everybody I know to go elsewhere.

very pleased with work

The Fender Mender on Savannah Hwy makes having your car repaired so easy since there is a car rental business in the same building. I dropped off my car and picked up the rental all in a short time. Couldn`t have been easier. Return and pick up of my nicely repaired car was just as easy. John Latsko was thorough in letting me know what needed to be done with my car, estimated the correct number of days the repai... view morer would take and then explained everything when I picked up my car. The body work and paint look great and have a life time warranty (as long as I won the car). Only minor complaint is I didn`t get warm fuzzies from the person at the front desk any of the 3 times I was there. She wasn`t rude or anything, just didn`t seem to care about making me feel welcome. I will not hesitate to return here if needed in the future.

Would never go any where else

I have had to use the Fender Mender in Charleston twice now and have had nothing but the best service. The people that I have dealt with have been extremely nice and helpful. The first time I came in was after a bad wreck and John Lastko explained everything with me in detail and made sure that I was okay with everything before starting. Repairs were made in a timely fashion and another problem was found with my batt... view moreery that wasn`t caused by the wreck. I was informed immediately about it was only charged a small cost for the part itself and nothing for the labor. The second time I came in I was having trouble with my fuel tank door and my side view mirror. I was unable to catch the name of the guy who helped my then but he was just as helpful if not more. While looking at my car just for the estimate, he could order a new fuel tank door but he could also adjust it right then as long as I didn`t mind it sticking out slightly. Problem 1 fixed and i haven`t even gotten my estimate. For my side view mirror, he said that he would just need to order a part and put it on and that it would be about $30. He also said that I could probably just go to the Nissan dealership and get the part cheaper through them and bring it to Fender Mender and he would just put on for me. I opted to order it through Fender Mender because I had already been to Nissan and after a cursory glance at my car, gave me an estimate of over $200. I would much rather stick with Fender Mender even if it did cost more then go to a place where I feel like I am getting cheated. Thank you to a great crew at the Fender Mender of Charleston.

Don`t waist your time here!!

I got in a car wreck, someone hit my bumper that Thursday. I dropped car off to get the bumper fixed the following Monday morning, guy said it would take no longer than 2-3 days. ""I CALLED THEM that Thursday to see if it was ready, the guy said it will probably be another day or two that my bumper was being painted in the body shop, we will call you no later than Monday.... Monday comes, NO PHONE CALL, I `AGAIN` C... view moreALL THEM, guy says we are having difficulty getting parts for this car, and your car is in body shop being painted... WTH??? I call the Geico Insurance guy, tell him the deal, someone was lieing to me and that my car still wasnt` ready after a week in half.
I get a phone call Wed. and insurance guy says its ready to be picked up just wait for them to call you, I get no phone call. I call the mechanic shop to see if I can pick up my car, he says It`s not ready!! REALLY???

They ended up getting my vehicle confused with someone elses.. I am hiley upset by now bc the rental I was driving waa drinking the crap out of gas.
I call to switch into another smaller rental by Wed., I get a phone call Thursday saying my car should be in detail and ready to go and the shop should call me.

AGAIN no phone call, I CALL THEM Friday morning, ""OH yes ma`am your car is ready""... REALLY??

I get my car back, car looks good, drive it that Saturday and it sounds like the battery or something is dead and my gas guage wasnt` working. Monday my car wouldn`t crank up, had to try 4 times mashing the gas pedd.le to get it to start.

It should have taken me to CALL THESE PEOPLE, and it shouldn`t have taken this long..

Don`t ever go to these people!! The bad reviews are TRUE, the one`s who gave 5 starts are probably telling a fib.

I read these reviews before I took my car to them and really wish I listened to what these people had to say!!

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE

It took them three weeks to fix my car. And then I was told twice that my car would be ready and it wasn`t. Wasted time to go there, but no one called me to tell me it wasn`t ready. Then when it was finally ready there were things like head lights not working, mirrors not working, doors still needed adjustments. When the car was dropped off there was almost a full tank of gas and 11,080 miles on the car. When I ... view morepicked up the car the gas was on EMPTY and my odometer read 11,454. No one could tell me why or how this happened. I was told I could view 21 days of tapes. Very bad experience with this company.

HORRIBLE UNETHICAL SCAM ARTISTS

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! During a lock out 5/26 - Thomas Gross with JT Hookers Towing shattered the driver`s window of my BMW. JT Hookers Towing ordered a new window and took it to Fender Menders in Charleston for installation. JT Hookers Towing and Fender Menders in Charleston are owned by the same person - Jim Gabrish. Tom repeatedly stated he did me a ""favor"" by replacing the window as it`s Jim`s policy to not repl... view moreace windows during a lock out. This was never relayed to me in any form nor did I sign a liability waiver. I was also informed they did me another favor by not charging for the lock out (by shattering my window?!?) or not charging to tow my car in (that was filled with shattered glass). While the window was installed on 5/27 - we were told from 1P-6:30P my car was done and being delivered back to me in 20 minutes. When the car was finally delivered at 7:15P the window did not close properly, leaving a gap large enough for me to easily place my finger in the window thus the car should have never been delivered back and they were clearly aware they were delivering back a faulty job. Fender Menders never once relayed they were unable to install a BMW window properly and never sought help from Exclusively Bimmers, which is who referred me to JT Hookers Towing for the lock out. As I live in Florida - a fact that I made them immediately aware of on 5/26, they were also aware I would be returning home on 5/30. Thus is was imperative my car be fixed in an expeditious manner or for them to make arrangements for it to be fixed at the BMW dealership here. While initially they said they would fix the window Saturday 5/28 (also my birthday) (when they were normally closed) they then rescinded the offer as I now discovered my leather console was all ripped from the broken glass and my GPS was missing. While the GPS was found (Exclusively Bimmers took it out of the car for safe keeping) Fender Menders refused to fix the window or replace the leather console. Again claiming they did me a favor by replacing the window. Tom made fun of me trying to think about taking him to court - and repeatedly arrogantly and obtusely insisted they were not liable and - best part - I should file a claim on my car insurance for their faulty work. He laughed several times - go ahead an try. I cussed at him worse than a sailor - who wouldn`t?!?! They had all day 5/28 and 5/29 to fix the window and make arrangements to replace the console. They adamantly refused to. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!

Exceptional Service

My wife and I are extremely pleased with the work done by Fender Mender in repairing the serious damage to our Mercedes by a driver who ran a red light at high speed. Customer service is excellent and our car is PERFECT. The work was A-1 in every aspect!

Great Experience

I`ve used this location twice for my own car and both times they`ve called me ahead to set up an appointment and contacted me immediately when the work was finished. They even drove me home while I didn`t have a car! In addition, the work is excellent and reasonably priced. I would definately recommend taking your vehicle here for repair!

Do not go here!

Geico dropped Fender Mender West Ashley because of quality issues. The paint was falling off of my car with primer exposed after 4 months. Total SCAM!!!! Do not go here!!!
