Misled in NC
I purchased a car from this dealership on Monday November 23,2009. The day i test drove the car with the Internet sales manager and I was assured that the car was serviced and 2 new tires were put on the car. While riding we(my cousin, (Internet sales mgr), and I heard a noise which was explained by the Internet sales manager to sound like something in the tire and was told instead of putting two new tires on the car... view more there should have probably been for put on. I was assured that it was nothing to be concerned about and it would be taken care of once the technicians came in next week. While sitting in the back seat it was brought to both The Internet sales manager and my attention that there was a hole and tare in the seat. The Internet sales manager and I agreed to allow me to pay $100 to cover the labor for fixing the hole and tare. This is when i inquired about the Keith Hawthorne Advantage on both new and used cars ...if unsatisfied for any reason can return the vehicle for another one on the lot with in 72hours. I honestly trusted these people. The Internet Sales Manager talked about church and personal things-they really made me feel comfortable. The Internet sales manager even assured ""if its too inconvenient for you to come all the way back we can even get a Mercedes dealership in your home area to look at it. I spoke with the GM on 11/30/2009 to advise him of the issues and he again assured ""I assure there is nothing wrong with this vehicle and if it is we will fix it...this is a good vehicle"" My reason for speaking to him was because the car seemed to be making louder and louder noises than before. I was to bring the car in on Wed. 12/2/09 and was unable to due to a weather storm. Spoke to the Internet sales manager and she agreed and stated...""Sure keep the car if there`s nothing wrong with it"" I guess at this point it was a sign that the internet sales manager and Co. were not going to fix the car and i didn`t see it coming. On 12/2/09 I spoke to the internet manager and she with her Manager and it was agreed that I would take the car to Mercedes dealership in Greenville, SC. Once Carlton Mercedes determined what the issue was by using a diagnosis machine.....Of course, the GM decided he didn`t want to own up to anything(initially). The results concluded that the main noise i was hearing while driving was the motor and transmission mount. This tells me that Keith Hawthorne, the GM , the Internet sales manager and their service department did NOT do any servicing. Not to mention my brakes are worn down to 10% and of course my big rattling engine that you can hear both in and outside of the car....The GM refuses to acknowledge any fault in my being misled. As a matter of fact he was so sarcastic as to accept my offer to bring my car in for them to look at for the same price as the Mercedes dealership. Anthony didn`t even ask if i took it to another dealership to get a price that wasn`t as high he just assumed to responsibility.
This issue was brought to the attention of this company less than 5 minutes after i left because as soon as I got to the next exit i called and drove the car back to the dealership because there was a `service E` light that came on. The GM was there when i brought the vehicle back and told me ""We`re not a Mercedes dealership....that`s just an oil change"" This was told I feel just to brush me off because that turned out to be incorrect as well. And if the car was truly serviced the two Main issues i have would have already been resolved.
The GM made an offer to assist and take responsibility and took the offer back.

Friendliest staff in town
I really enjoyed my experience with Keith Hawthorne Hyundai. I don`t exactly have the best credit in the world, and have often been treated rudely at other dealers. I had been turned down for a loan everywhere I went. Upon arriving at Keith Hawthorne Hyundai, I was promptly greeted with a warm welcome. I was impressed when the owner came and introduced himself to me as well as most of the staff. I felt as if I was am... view moreong friends and family. After the staff got the neccesary information, I was shown several vehicles that fit what I was looking for. I did spend a couple of hours at the dealership, but I left with a new car. I was very pleased with the courtesy, and professionalism of the staff. I am very impressed with the fact that they got me approved when everyone else had failed!

Really nice, until they make the sale and you enjoy haggling and the game.
I went into the store just to get pricing. It took them over 30 minutes to get bottom line pricing. I HATE haggling. I thought I had done my homework, but the next day found the same vehicle at Lake Norman Hyundai for $1,100 less.. They were also really nice, and their service dept is top notch.
